Marvel Studios is gearing up for its 2026 projects, and the first release won’t be in cinemas – it’s coming to Disney+. As the Multiverse Saga nears the end of its current phase, the next TV show will introduce a completely new hero to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With less than a week until its release, early reviews are in for the new Marvel series, Wonder Man. The show has received an official Rotten Tomatoes score of 90% from critics, indicating a generally positive reception for this Phase 6 installment.
Since reviews for Wonder Man are still being published, its score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes may change. We’ll know what audiences think of the new Marvel series after it starts streaming on Disney+.
Ben Gibbons, in his review for ScreenRant, highlighted that Wonder Man effectively demonstrates how a story with superpowers can still be deeply moving. He notes the show is primarily a drama, skillfully blending in comedy and action, and focuses on a man intensely striving to reach his goals.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II stars as Simon Williams in the new TV show Wonder Man, continuing his work with comic book adaptations after playing Black Manta in the DC Universe and Doctor Manhattan on HBO’s Watchmen. The Marvel series also brings back Sir Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery. Destin Daniel Cretton, who worked on Shang-Chi and Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is a co-creator and executive producer, and Andrew Guest is the head writer.
All eight episodes of Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man will premiere on Disney+ on Tuesday, January 27th, at 9 PM Eastern Time / 6 PM Pacific Time.
