Wanda Maximoff and Vision seem to have more emotional challenges in store for viewers, and many fans – including us – are eagerly anticipating what’s next, particularly after Paul Bettany discussed future storylines at LACC.
The series *WandaVision* left many questions unanswered, especially regarding Vision’s fate. Now, the upcoming show *Vision Quest* promises to provide some answers. Vision, first created using the Mind Stone in *Avengers: Age of Ultron*, shared a loving life with Wanda Maximoff before tragically dying twice. *WandaVision* depicted Wanda’s struggle with this loss, and ended with a new version of Vision – White Vision – flying away with the memories of the original Vision’s life with Wanda, including their time as parents to Billy and Tommy.
What Can We Expect From Vision Quest?

Like most Marvel projects, details about *Vision Quest* are being kept under wraps. What we *do* know is that Terry Matalas, the executive producer of *Star Trek: Picard*, is now the showrunner. This makes us think the series might focus more on the science fiction side of the story, especially when it comes to the role of magic.
During a panel at LACC with Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany discussed the upcoming *Vision Quest* series. He described the story as exploring “intergenerational trauma…fathers and sons and denial of pain and denial of your own truth and coming to terms with who and what you are.” He also explained what makes the famous line from *WandaVision*, “What is grief, if not love persevering?” so impactful. Bettany pointed out that the line’s power comes not from *him* delivering it, but from Elizabeth Olsen *receiving* it. He believes her reaction to the words is what truly made the line iconic.
As a huge fan, I’m already getting excited! Knowing James Spader is coming back as Ultron, and that White Vision will probably connect with Billy and Tommy, Wanda and Vision’s sons, it’s clear *Vision Quest* is going to be a seriously emotional ride. I’m bracing myself for all the feels!
