Get ready to play! The adaptation of Critical Role’s second campaign, featuring The Mighty Nein, is finally here – don’t forget your pink lollipop and the Uk’otoa card game!
Originally revealed in January 2023, this series continues the story of a charming group of adventurers and outcasts as they explore the magical world of Wildemount. Their journey takes place against the backdrop of a potential war, centered around a powerful artifact called “the Beacon” that can alter reality.
After the dramatic events at The Fletching and Moondrop Traveling Carnival of Curiosities, everyone is wondering what will happen to the upset Mollymauk Tealeaf (played by Taliesin Jaffe). Plus, the group fears they might be blamed for the disaster.
Here’s everything you need to know about when episode 4 is released.
When is The Mighty Nein episode 4 released?
I’m excited to share that after watching the first three episodes on November 19th, episode 4 of The Mighty Nein will be available in the UK next Wednesday, November 26th, on Prime Video!
The next part of the animated RPG series, called The Mighty Nein, will start streaming at 12:00 AM GMT (midnight).
I’m really excited about the next episode – the writing team includes some serious talent from Critical Role, Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham, and it’s being directed by Micah Gunnell, who did fantastic work on Invincible. It’s a combination that promises something special!
How many episodes of The Mighty Nein are there?
There are eight episodes in total of The Mighty Nein season 1, released across November and December.
This new series has fewer episodes than Critical Role’s first animated show, The Legend of Vox Machina, which spanned twelve episodes over three seasons.
This season’s episodes are considerably longer, running between 42 and 48 minutes each, whereas previous episodes of TLOVM were only about 22 minutes long.
Travis Willingham, the star and CEO of Critical Role Productions, shared with fans at GalaxyCon San Jose 2025 that changes were made because of feedback regarding the speed at which The Legend of Vox Machina was moving.
Willingham said they were attempting to fit a lot into each twelve-episode season, and viewers often told them the show felt rushed and needed to slow down.
We agree completely. It’s a real challenge trying to fit so much content into each season. We actually calculated it once, and we’re condensing between 28 and 32 hours of gameplay into twelve 22-minute episodes per season. It’s honestly a bit unbelievable how much we have to squeeze in!
He explained that the 44-minute runtime gave them more flexibility and time to develop the story each season. It was also crucial to them that they begin the ‘Mighty Nein’ storyline by establishing its origins.
