If you were planning to complete every single challenge in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 within the next year, the new Zombies Dark Ops content is going to make that much more difficult, if not impossible.
As an analyst following the Black Ops 7 Zombies scene, I’ve been tracking a dedicated player named Dkal. He’s been relentlessly trying to reach the highest possible round since the game came out on November 14th, and he was the first to actually achieve it. It’s a significant accomplishment after a lot of focused effort.
Dkal was the first player to achieve Round 999 in Zombies, unlocking a unique reward: the Dark Ops Calling Card, ‘The One’. In Black Ops 7, completing all Dark Ops challenges now requires reaching this incredibly high round in Zombies mode.
It seems reaching Round 999 in Dark Ops was a hidden accomplishment. After player Dkal announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he’d reached this milestone, Treyarch’s Lawrence Metten advised him to look at his Calling Cards, suggesting a reward was unlocked.
After looking into it and confirming with Metten, it’s now clear that Treyarch has included a very difficult Dark Ops challenge in Black Ops 7.
Great news! We’ve launched a Dark Ops Challenge for Round 999 in Black Ops 7. Huge congratulations to @itsDkal for being the first player to unlock it! Check it out: https://t.co/hguJwlEtYN (November 24, 2025)
It took Dkal an incredible 128 hours and 40 minutes – nearly five and a half days – to reach Round 999, as measured by the stream timer. Of course, he used the save and quit feature to make it possible!
You’ll receive a unique animated Calling Card as a reward, featuring a counter that’s almost at 999. This card is now the rarest item in the game, and it’s completely new – it hasn’t appeared in any previous versions.
This challenge takes so long and is so difficult that most players won’t be able to finish it without getting incredibly frustrated.
Some Call of Duty players are dedicated completionists. They aim to fully finish every game mode and collect all of the special Dark Ops Calling Cards for each one.
Honestly, seeing everyone react just broke my heart a little. We all know the game throws tough challenges at us – a million zombie kills is *hard* work! But this… this is something else entirely. It’s just unbelievably difficult.
It’s great that Treyarch is recognizing this challenging achievement for players willing to attempt it. I, however, think I’ll skip it!
