The Night Manager season 2 finale ratchets up the tension for Teddy, Pine and Roper in exclusive first look clip

The second season of The Night Manager ends this weekend with a thrilling finale. A sneak peek shows Teddy (Diego Calva) taking a huge risk as he secretly works to outsmart his powerful and dangerous father, Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie).

For the last five weeks, we’ve watched Teddy slowly start to side with Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston) as he realized how much his father disapproved of him.

Adding to the complexity, a surprising romantic connection has developed between the two men, giving Teddy another strong reason to switch sides. However, will anyone notice his betrayal?

Roper remembers being hurt by Pine in the past and suspects Pine is causing trouble for him now. So, he eyes Teddy with distrust while drinking his coffee.

This deal is everything for the businessman, who has a history of criminal activity. Success will return him to a life of luxury and acceptance within British society, but failure means the Syrian militia he’s angered will likely kill him.

Teddy has seemingly gotten away with switching sides for now, but Pine isn’t letting his guard down. He warns them to be cautious, clearly worried as they make their last moves in this dangerous situation.

While many were initially unsure about Richard Roper’s unexpected reappearance, it ultimately proved worthwhile, as the intense conflict between him and Pine created some compelling and captivating moments.

It’s looking more and more like the conflict between them will continue into the third season, which has been kept very private up until now.

The Night Manager season 2 concludes on Sunday 1st February on BBC One and iPlayer.
