The first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming summer film, The Odyssey, is finally here! Fans have been eagerly awaiting a glimpse of the movie, and now it’s arrived.

Following the Trojan War, Odysseus embarks on a perilous journey home to Ithaca, encountering mythical creatures such as the Cyclops Polyphemus, the alluring Sirens, and the sorceress Circe during his travels.

Nolan is a highly sought-after director, and his latest movie boasts an incredible cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Samantah Morton, Mia Goth, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, and Charlize Theron.

This film is different from the director’s previous work because it was completely filmed using IMAX film cameras and cutting-edge IMAX technology around the globe. The director has a history of pushing the boundaries of IMAX in filmmaking, starting with The Dark Knight in 2008. For this project, he asked IMAX to create new, lighter, and quieter 70mm film cameras – a request they fulfilled. He’s the first filmmaker ever to use these new cameras for an entire movie.

Nolan is known for making big-budget films, and his latest is reportedly his most expensive yet, costing around $250 million to produce. Tickets for IMAX 70mm showings worldwide went on sale on July 17th, 2025 – a full year before the movie even comes out! This is the first time a feature film has ever had pre-sales so far in advance, and we’re incredibly excited to see it!

As a total movie buff, I’m incredibly excited to share that Homer’s epic story is finally coming to IMAX! It’s a huge deal – this will be the first time this classic tale is experienced on those massive screens. Mark your calendars, because it hits theaters everywhere on July 17, 2026.
