The Only DC Movies Left on Netflix Are About to Leave the Service

Netflix has occasionally been a good place to watch DC movies, with several available at once. If Warner Bros. is eventually acquired by Netflix, that could become even more common—though that’s still a ways off. Currently, only a few DC films are streaming on Netflix, with most located on HBO Max. Unfortunately, even those remaining titles will be leaving Netflix in a couple of weeks.

Netflix announced which movies and shows will be removed in January, and it includes both DC films currently available on the platform. Both Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Blue Beetle will no longer be available after January 1st, giving viewers until December 31st to watch them. It’s particularly noteworthy that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom was just added to Netflix recently.

January’s newsletter, which announced the DC titles leaving Netflix, also showed what new movies and shows are coming next month. Surprisingly, no DC films were listed, meaning fans shouldn’t expect a lot of new DC content on the platform in the near future.

Leaving Netflix in January

Sadly, two DC movies are among the many titles leaving Netflix with the new year. On January 1st, dozens of popular shows and movies will no longer be available on the service, including favorites like Baby Driver, Kung Fu Panda, and all six seasons of Lost.

As a total movie buff, I’ve got a pretty diverse watchlist! It includes everything from classic thrillers like Agatha Christie’s Crooked House and intense dramas like Taxi Driver and Training Day, to fun action flicks like the Star Trek movies, Captain Phillips, and both G.I. Joe films. I’m a sucker for a good romance – Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Runaway Bride, and even the Fifty Shades series have a place on my list. Then there’s the lighter side – comedies like The Hangover trilogy, Baby Driver, and How to Be Single. I also enjoy a bit of fantasy and adventure with films like The Goonies, Kung Fu Panda, and the Lara Croft movies. And let’s not forget the visually stunning Mad Max: Fury Road and The Martian, plus a few quirky picks like Death Becomes Her and The Mask. Oh, and I definitely binged Lost back in the day! It’s a pretty eclectic mix, but that’s what I love about movies – there’s something for every mood.
