The Oscars 2026: Every Winner, Every Shock & Every Snub (Updated LIVE)

The Oscars are here, and this year’s ceremony is largely a competition between two frontrunners: Ryan Coogler’s Sinners, with 16 nominations, and Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, with 13. The race pits a popular, genre-bending film against a critically acclaimed director hoping for his first win after many nominations. Host Conan O’Brien kicked things off with a memorable opening, playfully inserting himself into scenes from all the major nominated movies – even dressing up as Aunt Gladys from Weapons, including a bit in KPop Demon Hunters.

We’ll be posting live updates with all the winners and nominees across all 24 categories throughout the awards show. We’ll also share our thoughts on the biggest surprises, disappointments, and standout wins, starting with the Best Supporting Actress award and going all the way to Best Film. But before we get to the winners…

Best Supporting Actress

  • WINNER: Amy Madigan, Weapons
  • Elle Fanning, Sentimental Value
  • Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Sentimental Value
  • Wunmi Mosaku, Sinners
  • Teyana Taylor, One Battle After Another

Well, the industry pretty much predicted it – though audiences seemed to favor Wunmi Mosaku – Amy Madigan took home her second Oscar, a full four decades after winning for Twice in a Lifetime. She was adorably surprised and humbled, but honestly, her performance as the delightfully over-the-top villain in Weapons was a standout all year. It was a truly transformative role and a real highlight of the awards season.

Best Animated Feature Film

  • WINNER: KPop Demon Hunters
  • Arco
  • Elio
  • Little Amélie or the Character of Rain
  • Zootopia 2

Honestly, I was thrilled to see the biggest animated hit of the year take home the award – and it absolutely deserved it, even with Zootopia 2 making so much money. It was a little frustrating though, because they kept rushing the speakers with music, which felt really ironic considering the film’s whole message is about finding and using your voice!
