The Outer Worlds 2 Gets New Trailer Showcasing Strange Weapons Like the Shrink Gun

After sharing a trailer for their upcoming RPG, *The Outer Worlds 2*, earlier this week, Obsidian Entertainment has released another one. This new trailer highlights some of the game’s unique weapons, which have unusual effects – like shrinking enemies or a sword that requires rhythmic swinging.

The trailer featured several unique weapons, including the Pop-Up Gun, which uses advertisements to distract foes, the Armageddon, which launches creature arms that attach to enemies and inflict ongoing damage, the rhythm-based Dance Saber, and the Shrink Gun.

The latest trailer for *The Outer Worlds 2*, like the first one, shows actors Ben Schwartz and Marc Evan Jackson presenting the game to a focus group and getting their feedback. It maintains the same funny tone, with Schwartz playing Mark, the head of sequels, and jokingly trying to give himself an Employee of the Year award.

This is the second trailer recently released that highlights the weapons in *The Outer Worlds 2*. A trailer earlier this week showed off a variety of weapons, including typical guns and more unusual choices like a grenade launcher built into a wrist device and a large hammer that can even burst into flames while being swung.

Over the past week, several new details about *The Outer Worlds 2* have been released. One key point is that the sequel won’t continue the story based on any of the endings from the first *The Outer Worlds* game. Creative director Leonard Boyarsky confirmed this, stating it’s a “completely different colony,” so the game won’t directly follow up on any previous conclusions.

Because *The Outer Worlds 2* is set in the isolated Arcadia star system, players will likely encounter mostly hints and mentions of what happened in the original game, rather than direct connections to it.

Boyarsky explained that while the new game doesn’t have a ton of new details, it continues the overarching story established in the first game. Players familiar with the original will likely appreciate subtle references and connections that new players might miss. He believes fans of the first game will enjoy discovering these hidden elements.

Okay, so I’m super hyped because *The Outer Worlds 2* is officially launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 29th! The director, Brandon Adler, just dropped some cool info – apparently, we’ll be able to tame creatures and keep them as pets, which is awesome. He also mentioned something interesting: they didn’t originally plan to include a third-person camera, but they ended up adding it in, which is great news for those of us who like to see our character!
