The season finale of The Pitt revealed a troubling detail about Dr. Trinity Santos (Isa Briones), despite her having done the right thing. Throughout the first season of the HBO Max series, a key conflict arose between Dr. Frank Langdon and Dr. Santos when she discovered and revealed that he was stealing medication from patients.
Santos reported Langdon’s improper conduct to Dr. Robby, which caused Langdon to be fired at the end of Season 1 of The Pitt. Langdon later returned in Season 2 after completing rehab, and his return stirred up conflict with both Dr. Robby and Dr. Santos.
What The Pitt Season 2 Revealed About Dr. Santos

The conflict between Dr. Santos and Dr. Langdon carried over into the tenth episode of The Pitt‘s second season. Although Langdon seemed to be genuinely trying to apologize for his past actions, Dr. Santos remained unforgiving, ultimately leading to a tense and noticeable breakdown in his conversation with Dr. Yolanda Garcia.
The episode showed Santos and Garcia talking about Langdon coming back to work. Santos felt strongly that Langdon should have been fired and shouldn’t have been welcomed back at the Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.
Following Dr. Santos’ report about Dr. Langdon, which resulted in his dismissal, the situation at Pitt became clear: the consequences were severe. It turned out Dr. Santos herself had been ostracized for the past year, making her feel alone and unfairly blamed.
It’s unbelievable he wasn’t fired. He just came back as if nothing happened, while I’ve been completely ostracized for the past ten months simply for doing what was right.

Santos thought people were upset with her because she’d caused Langdon to be removed from the PTMC. But Garcia quickly countered, explaining that Santos struggles to collaborate with others.
Perhaps people avoid you because you have trouble getting along with them. If you’re still holding a grudge against Langdon, you should talk to him about it.
Santos’s intense competition with Langdon was clearly affecting her, leading her to unfairly blame him for how others were treating her. It seemed she wasn’t recognizing her own role in the situation. Garcia tried to explain that Langdon had admitted his mistake and urged her to be more professional and let it go.
Santos’s unwillingness to collaborate and accept feedback could ultimately be her undoing. Throughout the second season, she’s repeatedly undermined her colleagues and struggled to follow instructions. She even made a significant error on a patient chart, but instead of acknowledging the mistake, she simply assured Dr. Robby it wouldn’t happen again, effectively brushing off her own shortcomings.
Dr. Santos’ problems appeared to stem from difficulties in her relationships with others. This likely explains why she’s been excluded or disliked, and why she’s been ostracized for her actions regarding Dr. Langdon.
Is Dr. Santos to Blame for Her Behavior Against Dr. Langdon?

In a March 2025 interview with TopMob, actress Isa Briones, known for her role in The Pitt, revealed that Santos reported Langdon to Robby because of a past disagreement between them. This was compounded by her discovery that Langdon was putting patients at risk by stealing their medications.
It’s clear that Langdon’s dismissive behavior contributed to the problem, but the biggest concern is that patient care was being put at risk. Specifically, someone wasn’t receiving their medication, which was the breaking point. While Langdon wasn’t blameless and responded unkindly, that didn’t improve the situation.
While Santos was right to report Langdon, he’d already taken responsibility for his own errors and was focused on fixing things.
While Santos believes she was right in her actions, it’s important for her to learn from any mistakes and strive to improve as both a doctor and colleague at PTMC.
