The Possibility of Ghost of Yotei DLC Could Be Down to You

While the Legends mode has been confirmed, it’s currently unclear what Sucker Punch, the developer of Ghost of Tsushima, is planning to work on next.

The studio is getting ready to announce its next major game, and it doesn’t seem to have any plans for additional content like downloadable updates or expansions for Ghost of Yotei right now. Whether or not those expansions happen will likely depend on what players want.

According to lead developers Jason Connell and Ian Ryan, the Iki Island DLC for Ghost of Tsushima was created because players wanted to continue Jin’s journey, as they told Game Informer (via Eurogamer).

I’m really hoping we get a Ghost of Yotei expansion, and it sounds like the team is actually listening to what fans want! They’ve said they love Atsu and think he’s a fantastic character, just like they felt about Jin. Basically, if they can find ways to make Atsu even better, add some cool new stuff, or make the story clearer, and it fits with what Sucker Punch wants to do, they’re definitely going to seriously consider adding him to the game. It’s encouraging to hear they’re open to it!

The Iki Island expansion came out for PlayStation 5 and 4 about a year after the original game, adding a brand-new area to discover and over 15 hours of extra content as part of a Director’s Cut. If the developers at Sucker Punch get enough requests from players, they might create a similar large expansion for Ghost of Yotei.

Ghost of Yotei will be getting a new co-op mode called Legends, similar to what was added to Ghost of Tsushima after it released. This free update will include new character classes, story missions designed for two players, and skirmishes for teams of four.
