Perp Games announced that The Relic: The First Guardian will be released on the Nintendo Switch 2 later in 2024, according to vice-president Mickey Torode.
We’re thrilled to announce that The Relic is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2! Getting the game running on the new system was a significant technical achievement, and we can’t wait for players to experience it. We know the Switch 2 community loves a good, challenging RPG, and we’re excited to share more details soon.
If you’re unfamiliar with this game, it’s a challenging action RPG – often called a ‘Soulslike’ – that combines quick, intense combat with a huge world to discover. It aims to successfully merge the best elements of its genre. You’ll journey through Arsiltus, a land scarred by the loss of its holy artifacts, and be drawn to explore the remnants of its once-great civilization.
As I play, I’m finding these Relics really change how I approach battles and build my character – I get to decide exactly what kind of hero I want to be as I try to save (and maybe even rebuild!) the world. The combat is awesome because it doesn’t slow you down with a stamina bar. It’s all about quick reactions, perfectly timed parries, and just being super aggressive to win.
Although we don’t yet know when The Relic: The First Guardian will be available on Switch 2, it’s launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on May 26th. You can watch the trailer below and learn more on the game’s Steam page.
