This upgrade arrives just in time to mark the 50th anniversary of a movie that embodies the essence of a cult classic.

UPDATE: The official release date for the 4K Blu-ray of “Rocky Horror” has been set for October 7th, accompanied by the Steelbook cover art and a list of special features (details provided below). In addition, there are scheduled 50th anniversary events for dedicated fans in September and October.

Pre-orders for the 4K Steelbook Blu-ray on Amazon and Walmart should be available soon. A digital version will also become accessible on streaming platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home starting from October 7th.

Considering the immense significance of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” for its dedicated fanbase, it was crucial that the remastered version was flawlessly executed. Disney reveals that this updated and refined edition of the movie took the Walt Disney Studios Restoration team a meticulous ten months to complete. They employed a precise digital scanning and preservation method to ensure every scene from this cult classic appears in stunning clarity and vibrancy. The restoration process also included a freshly mixed Dolby Atmos audio track, as well as restoring the original mono audio for those preferring the traditional sound. Thus, you have the option of enjoying the famous soundtrack in both modern and vintage modes.
