As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that I got a sneak peek at the latest trailer for “The Rogue Prince of Persia” from Evil Empire, during Xbox’s Gamescom showcase! Today, this masterpiece is officially making its grand entrance on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms (not forgetting Game Pass members!). And if you’re a Nintendo fan, fear not – it’ll be available for Nintendo Switch later this year, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version following suit.
So, gear up and get ready to immerse yourself in an epic gaming journey, starting today!
In the style of a side-scrolling adventure game, “The Rogue Prince of Persia” centers around a character known as The Prince, who is on a mission to rescue his dear ones from an invasion he inadvertently triggered. The gameplay and platform navigation mimic the classic versions, with a strong leaning towards exploration. Due to a unique medallion he possesses, each time The Prince dies, he finds himself back at a central hub area reminiscent of a sprawling oasis, thus incorporating elements of a rogue-like gameplay style.
Just like the game Dead Cells, players get to pick from a variety of weapons and Medallions, each offering distinct passive abilities. Furthermore, they’re free to explore different biomes at their leisure, an action that affects both the storyline and the characters they help along the way.
It’s worth noting that The Evil Empire hasn’t shared specifics about when their game will leave Early Access or what the full version 1.0 update might include. Keep an eye out for further updates on this topic.
