The Scarecrow’s Wedding voice cast:
- Sophie Okonedo is the Narrator
- Jessie Buckley is Betty O’Barley
- Domhnall Gleeson is Harry O’Hay
- Rob Brydon is Reginald Rake
Sophie Okonedo is the Narrator

Where have I seen Sophie Okonedo before? Most recently, you’ll have seen Okonedo in popular sci-fi hit, The Wheel of Time and Apple TV+ series Slow Horses. She’s also appeared in Doctor Who, Inside No. 9, The Hollow Crown and many more popular series.
Jessie Buckley is Betty O’Barley

Betty O’Barley is a scarecrow whose job is to protect the farmer’s crops by scaring away crows. Things get interesting when a new scarecrow arrives, and Betty finds herself falling in love!
You might recognize Jessie Buckley from the BBC show I’d Do Anything, where she finished as a runner-up. Since then, she’s become a well-known actress in television, film, and theater. Some of her most notable roles include an Oscar-nominated performance in The Lost Daughter, as well as starring in Hamnet, and appearing in I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Chernobyl, and Wild Rose.
Domhnall Gleeson is Harry O’Hay

Harry O’Hay is a character who quickly falls for Betty when they meet in a farmer’s field. He’s determined to make her wedding day perfect and does everything he can to ensure she’s happy.
Many people recognize Domhnall Gleeson from his role as Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter movies. He’s also appeared in popular films like About Time, Ex Machina, and The Revenant. More recently, he’s been starring in The Paper, a spin-off of The US Office.
Rob Brydon is Reginald Rake

Reginald Rake is a scarecrow who, like Harry, is used by Betty to protect the farm. Unlike Harry, though, Reginald doesn’t have good intentions and ends up causing a lot of problems.
You might recognize Rob Brydon from his work in the animated films based on Julia Donaldson’s books. But he’s probably most famous for playing Uncle Bryn in the popular show Gavin & Stacey, which ended last Christmas. He also starred alongside Steve Coogan in The Trip, and has been in many other shows and films.
The Scarecrows’ Wedding will air this Christmas on the BBC.
