It’s mid-September 2025, and Microsoft just announced the next wave of games coming to Xbox Game Pass (through Xbox Wire). This batch includes twelve titles, and several are highly-rated, critically acclaimed games you won’t want to miss.
In my research, I’ve been looking at several popular games, including the critically acclaimed roguelite *Hades* by Supergiant Games, *Visions of Mana*, the newest game in Square Enix’s *Mana* series, and *Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3*, the latest release in the incredibly popular *Modern Warfare* franchise.

Time to play Hades on Xbox Game Pass an appetizer for Hades 2
This next batch of Xbox Game Pass titles is a solid line-up to close out September.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is a strong entry in the series, earning a 4-star review from us. We especially enjoyed the engaging single-player story, the fun and responsive shooting, the diverse selection of multiplayer maps – both classic and new – and the addictive Modern Warfare Zombies experience.
Visions of Mana is a delightful action-RPG that has brought Square Enix’s Mana series to a wider audience. It’s known for its fast-paced battles and imaginative setting.
Hades is a highly praised action-RPG roguelite that has gained significant recognition. It’s celebrated for its fresh interpretation of Greek mythology, engaging combat, and the way it keeps players coming back for more thanks to its roguelite design. Plus, it features incredibly difficult and rewarding boss battles.
As the highly anticipated sequel, Hades 2, nears its full release on September 25, 2025, the original Hades is coming to Xbox Game Pass just days before. This makes it a great opportunity for existing fans to jump back in, and for newcomers to discover what everyone’s been talking about.
I fall into the second group, because when Hades was first released in 2020, I was completely absorbed in playing Monster Hunter World and didn’t have time for it.
With Hades arriving on Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Xbox Cloud Gaming, I’m excited to finally check out this highly-rated game, starting September 19, 2025.
