Looking ahead, “The Simpsons” boasts a promising future with its renewal extending up to season forty. Over the years, the town of Springfield’s storyline has uncannily anticipated several real-world events, an observation not lost on those behind the successful comedy series. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Matt Groening, the creator of “The Simpsons,” shared his vision for the future, while current showrunner Matt Selman eagerly added his insights. So, keep your lottery tickets handy because the creative minds behind “The Simpsons” are set to foresee what’s next!
To begin with, Matt Groening humorously suggested that he is a time-traveler privy to future events, “We are time travelers. The Simpsons foretells that Elon Musk will be the first man to land on Mars. Incredibly, he will crash-land on Mars. But he will manage to signal back that he is stranded there for good. And most poignantly of all, he will be able to hear the cheers all the way. The Simpsons predicts that kids across America will free their Republican parents from the grip of MAGA. Here’s how you can do it: Grab your TV remote, go to settings, go to controls, vertical controls, look for channel list, and delete Fox News.
The Simpsons Showrunner Looks Into A Crystal Ball
Matt Selman, the present executive producer of “The Simpsons”, expressed his views on the show’s uncanny ability to seem prophetic, while also addressing the recent claims that the show had foreseen the viral moment involving Coldplay. He stated, “Who could be so naive? Out of our 800 episodes, it’s preposterous to think that those two individuals – I can’t even find an appropriate term, the assumptions are mind-boggling – would believe that this was in ‘The Simpsons’. And indeed, the answer is millions upon millions of people! When you encounter something claimed to be a ‘Simpsons’ prediction, just take a moment. Could it have realistically been on the show? That’s all, just take a moment and then respond, ‘They are extraordinary, they’re sorcerers, they did it again.’
If you’ve been yearning for the zany antics of Homer, Marge, Lisa, Bart, and Maggie from The Simpsons, mark your calendars! On Sunday, September 28th at 8:00 PM Eastern on Fox, the series will come back to start its thirty-seventh season. Alongside it, you’ll find Universal Basic Guys, Krapopolis, and Bob’s Burgers during the Animation Domination block. As for Family Guy fans, they can look forward to the show returning in 2026, starting its twenty-fourth season – where Quahog’s finest will be again!
