The Simpsons Season 36 Surprisingly Kills Off Another Character

As a long-time Simpsons fan who can remember when Bart’s laugh was still fresh and new, I must say that the latest development in Season 36 has left me both shocked and intrigued. The show has always been known for its witty humor and clever writing, but lately, it seems to be taking a darker turn – and I have to admit, I’m here for it!

Over the past few years, The Simpsons has dared to push boundaries and innovate, and the most evident proof of this is the recent event of another character’s demise in Season 36. The last couple of seasons of this long-running animated comedy have raised the stakes for Homer Simpson and Springfield as a whole, leading to some tangible outcomes. In the previous season, The Simpsons took the risk of extinguishing a character that has been present since day one, to explore new storytelling avenues. This season has further upped the ante by taking away another beloved character from the past in the latest episode.

In “The Simpsons” Season 36 Episode 10 titled “The Man Who Flew Too Much,” Homer and their newly established Pin Pals were aiming for a bowling championship. However, Barney caused an accident by crashing their helicopter onto a mountain. The group struggled to survive the ordeal and make it back down safely. Unfortunately, one of the new team members, Fausto, didn’t survive the crash. He reappeared in the recent episode, only to eventually succumb to his injuries sustained from the helicopter wreckage.

The Simpsons Kills Off Fausto in Season 36

In the 36th season of “The Simpsons”, a character named Nick Callahan, who was previously seen in the episode “Realty Bites” and later joined Marge’s real estate team, met his end in the second episode titled “The Yellow Lotus”. This death might not seem significant in the grand scheme but serves to emphasize the potential peril that important characters face. Similarly, the character Fausto, who was initially part of The Rotting Pelican’s crew in Season 18’s “The Wife Aquatic”, is set to follow a similar fate, possibly indicating increased danger for significant characters.

He might have been seen here or there (and was even thought to be dead in that initial appearance since then), but this has been his first main role in the series in years. He was introduced as part of a new line up of Pin Pals that are heading towards a bowling championship, and adds to the eventual helicopter crash when it’s revealed that he brought an anchor on board for good luck. Taking a big hit on the head when they crashed, Fausto was hanging for his dear life the entire time. But even with Ned’s help, Fausto died on the mountain.

The Simpsons Has Been Experimenting All Season

Over the past few years, The Simpsons has brought about quite a change, and each new episode offers a surprising twist that’s unlike anything anticipated. This latest episode, focusing on a death, was no exception, as it steered clear of humor surrounding the tragic event. Although Fausto may not have been a significant character previously, his importance became apparent through this death, albeit slightly undermined by Moe’s appetite for him. The tension in the episode was palpable, as the viewers were left wondering how Homer and the others would manage to descend from the mountain.

In the end, I witnessed Homer manage to rescue everyone as he caught a whiff of Marge’s delectable cooking, which ignited his determination. Regrettably, he couldn’t save Fausto in the nick of time. As a poignant farewell, Homer placed coins over Fausto’s eyes, underscoring that his departure wasn’t a mere jest, but a tragic reality. It was a chilling reminder of the close call they had all experienced, and the unfortunate outcome that claimed one among them.
