The Split spin-off series adds major guest star to join Unforgotten favourite

I’m really excited about the new legal drama, The Split Up – it’s a spin-off from The Split, which I loved! They just announced that Jameela Jamil is joining the cast as a guest star, and I think she’s going to be fantastic in it. Filming is already underway, so we’re one step closer to seeing it!

While it’s still unknown what role Jamil will play, she has been confirmed to appear in the series. A photo from the set revealed her alongside Ritu Arya, who plays Aria Kishan.

Joining the cast in significant roles are Sanjeev Bhaskar (known from ‘Unforgotten‘) as Aria’s father, Dhruv, alongside Aysha Kala, Arian Nik, Danny Ashok, Dimitri Leonidas, Mawaan Rizwan, Sindhu Vee, Shalini Peiris, and Tom Forbes.

Meanwhile, other stars set to guest star alongside Jamil include Lenny Henry and Jane Horrocks.

Jamil started her career as a TV presenter on T4, but she’s now widely recognized for her acting work in shows like The Good Place, Star Trek: Prodigy, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Poker Face.

She’s also been in movies like How to Build a Girl, Marry Me, DC League of Super-Pets, and Elio.

The Split Up takes place in Manchester, focusing on the complex world of high-profile divorces. The story revolves around Kishan Law, a successful law firm specializing in cases for the city’s wealthiest residents. Aria Kishan, a rising star at the firm, is preparing to take over from her father, Dhruv.

But since his mother passed away, Dhruv is now questioning whether his daughter is capable of, or even should be expected to, handle these plans on her own.

As Aria’s wedding to Neal approaches, their relationship faces challenges. Because their lives are so closely connected both personally and professionally, it’s uncertain if they can handle the strain. Things become even more complicated when an old love interest unexpectedly shows up in Manchester.

Aria, along with her sister Maya and brother Kav, is facing difficult choices that are testing her family and relationships. She’s grappling with a big question: should you live your life for yourself, or for others?

Ursula Rani Sarma, known for her work on ‘Delicious,’ created the new show, with Abi Morgan, the creator of ‘The Split,’ serving as an executive producer.
