The third season of “The Summer I Turned Pretty” premiered recently, and the initial two episodes can currently be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

In the last part, Belly eagerly anticipates spending another summer in Cousins with her partner, Jeremiah, as she bids farewell to her junior year at college.

As I was settling into my predictable routine, unexpected twists and turns brought my long-lost love, Conrad, back into my world, sending tremors through my heart once more. (From a movie lover’s perspective)

Lola Tung, the actor who plays Belly, spoke about her character’s storyline so far and hinted at the upcoming season 3 developments when she told Deadline: “Over the past seasons, Belly has gone through a lot, including grief, love, and shifts in all of her relationships – with her brothers, friends, and mother. She’s undergone many changes, and while viewers have seen some of this transformation, there’s a significant time leap before season 3 that we won’t get to witness the events of those years. This means there are plenty of surprises in store for us as we follow Belly’s continued journey.

As an actor, it’s your role to imagine and portray what you believe transpired, how a character evolved, and where they currently stand. It was quite fascinating to carry out this process, particularly since I am now playing a character my own age. Due to the strike, we had a break of a year, which allowed us time to mature independently and disassociate from our characters. Upon returning, we were able to incorporate all the personal growth and insights we gained during that time into our respective characters.

Once more, music takes center stage in the closing act, and Taylor Swift’s tunes are notably significant within the storyline. However, it’s worth noting that Taylor Swift isn’t the only artist featured on the series’ playlist.
