Nintendo and Illumination have unveiled the first trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Brie Larson will be the voice of Rosalina, and Benny Safdie will voice Bowser Jr. in the film.
Here is an overview of the movie, via Illumination:
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is an animated film set in the Super Mario universe. It’s a follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which came out in 2023 and made over $1.3 billion globally. Both films are produced by Chris Meledandri from Illumination and Shigeru Miyamoto of Nintendo.
Universal Pictures and Nintendo are partnering to fund a new movie, which Universal Pictures will also distribute globally.
Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, who previously worked together, directed The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Matthew Fogel wrote the screenplay. Brian Tyler composed the music.
Okay, so I just heard the news – The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is officially hitting theaters on April 3, 2026! It’s coming to the US and a bunch of other countries around the world right away, and even more places will get it throughout the rest of April. I’m already marking my calendar!
