While Sony isn’t holding another State of Play this month, Nintendo has announced a special presentation focused on The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Called “The Super Mario Bros. Movie Direct,” it will stream on January 25th at 6 AM Pacific Time and share the newest details about the film, which hits US theaters on April 3rd.
Okay, so the timing of this Direct is a little weird – they usually do these during the week, but that’s just Nintendo being Nintendo! What I’m really excited about is that the next movie will finally introduce Bowser Jr. and Rosalina. Apparently, Bowser Jr. is going to be a big problem this time around. And it sounds like Bowser himself might still be a threat, if he can get back to being his full, scary size!
With Mario and Luigi racing through the desert on dirt bikes, Princess Peach taking down hordes of ninjas with powerful moves, and Rosalina battling a massive robot, the game is packed with exciting moments. Will Yoshi make an appearance? We’ll have to wait and see, but it seems very probable.
You’ll be excited to learn that Rosalina is joining the fun in Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park! She’s a brand new character you can play as, and a second player can help her out by controlling Luma. The game releases on March 26th for the Switch 2 – you can watch a trailer with all the details here.
