It’s pretty clear Nintendo and Illumination are doing a lot to promote The Super Mario Bros. Movie. After announcements in November 2025 and January, they’ve now scheduled another dedicated presentation about the film for March 9th.
Nintendo just released another trailer for the upcoming movie, but this one is being billed as the last one. This likely means fans shouldn’t expect any more dedicated presentation events before the film’s release. It still leaves you wondering what surprises are left, considering previous trailers have already shown off locations from Super Mario Odyssey, revealed Yoshi battling a T. rex with a Super Scope, introduced Rosalina, and featured Bowser Jr., among other things.
We’ve seen rumors about upcoming characters – even hints of a familiar purple enemy of Mario’s. Is Nintendo intentionally starting to reveal them now? We’ll have to wait and see.
The Super Mario Galaxy Movie comes out in US theaters on April 1st. While it’s unclear if more Mario movies are planned – or what’s happening with new video games – a Legend of Zelda movie is also in the works. Unlike the Mario films, the Zelda movie will be live-action, starring Bo Bragason as Zelda and Evan Ainsworth as Link. It’s scheduled for release in May 2027, and the first trailer hasn’t been released yet.
