The scenes after the credits of The Super Mario Bros. Movie hint at possible future movies or stories based on the Mario universe. The film, which came out in theaters on April 1st, stars Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Benny Safdie, Donald Glover, and many other talented actors.
What happens in The Super Mario Galaxy movie post-credits scenes?
The Super Mario Bros. Movie includes two scenes after the credits that hint at potential future movies focusing on other characters.
The first scene after the credits shows Glen Powell as Fox McCloud, a classic character from Super Smash Bros. Powell’s involvement was revealed shortly before the movie came out. In the scene, McCloud is seen leaving the prison holding Bowser and Bowser Jr. He then speaks with Toad, who asks what his next move is. McCloud simply states he’s going “home,” hinting at a possible future movie or series centered around his character.
The movie has a second hidden scene after the credits. It briefly shows Princess Daisy, hinting she might be in a future Super Mario movie. In the scene, a monkey named Ukiki tries to snatch her purse, but she quickly knocks him out! While this suggests Daisy will be a character in the sequel, the actress who will voice her hasn’t been announced yet, as she doesn’t speak in this short clip.
While a follow-up to The Super Mario Bros. Movie hasn’t been officially announced, actor Charlie Day, who played Luigi, has expressed interest in a Luigi’s Mansion spin-off. In an interview with ScreenRant, Day said he’d be excited to do the movie, praising the game as fun and suggesting it could include some playful jump scares, without becoming a scary movie for children.
