The Supergirl Poster Is Here (And It’s Everything We Wanted)

DC Studios’ new cinematic universe will begin in 2026 with the movie Supergirl. Fans will get a first look tomorrow with the release of the teaser trailer. To build excitement, DC has now shared the official Supergirl poster, and it delivers on everything fans were hoping for.

The new poster shows Milly Alcock as Supergirl, flying in her costume but with a surprising addition: a brown trench coat, sunglasses, and headphones. Behind her is a graffiti-style Supergirl logo, and the poster’s tagline is a playful twist on the classic motto: “Truth. Justice. Whatever.” You can see the poster below.

I’m really getting a strong vibe of confidence and coolness from the posters and the little bit of footage released so far – it feels like what fans have always wanted to see from a Supergirl movie! It’s based on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic series by Tom King, Bilquis Evely, and Matheus Lopes, and this version of Supergirl feels so different and fresh compared to how she’s been portrayed before.

When it became clear the movie was based on that story, it wasn’t certain how much of it would actually make it into the final film, or how similar the movie’s feel would be. However, based on what we’ve seen, the movie seems to have successfully captured the spirit and atmosphere of the book.

The adaptation will differ from the original story in a few ways, most notably with the introduction of Lobo, a popular DC character. Jason Momoa will play Lobo, marking his first appearance in a DC Studios project. While Lobo wasn’t part of the original tale, his profession as a bounty hunter fits well, and fans are excited to see Momoa’s take on the character in the upcoming trailer.

Craig Gillespie directs Supergirl, with a screenplay by Ana Nogueira. The film features Anya Alcock as Supergirl and Jason Momoa as Lobo, alongside Eve Ridley as Ruthye, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem, Emily Beecham as Alura, and David Krumholtz as Zor-El. David Corenswet might also make a brief appearance, as Supergirl was first shown in a post-credits scene in Superman, but that remains to be seen.

Supergirl soars into theaters on June 26, 2026.
