As a huge fan of reality TV, I was so excited to hear The Traitors is back for a fourth season! It absolutely blew up last year – becoming the biggest show of 2025 in the UK surprisingly early on – and the BBC is promising even more drama and unexpected moments this time around. I can’t wait!
The first season of the celebrity version of the show recently finished, attracting 15 million viewers. It’s become the most-watched series ever on demand, with more viewers tuning in within the first week than any other show on record.
Having already achieved so much success, the show’s creators are definitely feeling the pressure to deliver again.

He shared that people – especially parents – approached them to express gratitude for bringing families together through their show. They said it rekindled the experience of watching TV with their teens and children, turning it into a shared event. This was particularly surprising given the show’s themes of murder, deceit, and betrayal.
“But obviously, then there’s lots of pressure onto the civilian version.”
Cotton noted that the celebrity-focused series will likely feature people viewers already recognize, making it easier for the audience to relate to them.
Cotton explained that when you switch back to the standard version, you’ll be interacting with people you haven’t met before, and it’s important to be open and welcoming to them.
The next season of The Traitors will feature 22 contestants from around the UK competing at a Scottish castle for a prize of up to £120,000.
According to the BBC, viewers can look forward to a new season filled with surprising plot twists, dangerous adventures, hidden secrets, betrayals, exiles, and plenty of murders.
