The producers of this season’s The Traitors weren’t looking for contestants with a strong sense of style when they were casting the show.

This year’s casting for Faithfuls and Traitors was perfect, and the selected contestants were also the most popular and current the show has ever seen.

Claudia Winkleman is known for her stylish outfits on The Traitors, and fans look forward to seeing what she’ll wear each episode. However, this season, the contestants are getting just as much attention for their love of knitted clothing.

It’s not just one person on the show making fashion statements. Since Jade wore that bright rainbow cardigan, it feels like everyone’s trying to outdo each other with their outfits – it’s become a quiet competition for the best look.

Jade is known for her huge collection of cardigans, Matthew’s been rocking vintage-inspired sweater vests, and Stephen showed up in a bold, high-fashion jumpsuit. Even Rachel, who usually prefers comfortable clothes, surprised everyone with a striking all-red outfit that left the other contestants speechless.

The standout fashion moment that cemented this season’s cast as the most stylish we’ve seen at Ardross Castle happened in episode 4, when Jade wore a vibrant rainbow cardigan. It’s the ‘Colourful Colossal Knit Cardigan’ by Hope Macauley and costs £420.

The cardigan is available in three sizes and needs to be carefully cleaned – you can only spot clean it and then use a special comb to keep it looking good. The PhD student who won, and said she’d buy a house with the prize money, didn’t just wear the cardigan – she completed the look with perfectly matched rainbow eyeshadow! It was definitely too expensive for a student like me.

On the reality show The Celebrity Traitors, Charlotte Church was seen wearing a green cardigan – the ‘Colossal Knit Cardigan’ in Zola – by designer Hope Macauley.

Matthew’s roll neck jumper, episode 3

Brand: Lupetto Neck Jumper by Shetland Woollen Company

Price: £195

Matthew looks like he stepped straight out of the movie Love Actually in this jumper! Seriously, if you put him next to a picture of Colin Firth wearing a similar roll neck while writing by the lake in the film, it would be hard to tell them apart.

Matthew’s jumper, costing £195, comes from the Shetland Woollen Company. It’s made by local knitters in Shetland, right in their homes, using traditional hand-powered knitting machines and wool sourced from just 40 miles away. You couldn’t find a more authentically Scottish piece of clothing!

The jumper is available in seven colours, and Matthew seems to have the Natural Green version. He also wore a Charcoal Brown one when he was on the show ‘The Traitors: Uncloaked’. Interestingly, the model showcasing the jumper on the website is actually Matthew – he clearly likes it a lot!

Jade’s Cherry cardigan, episode 9

Brand: Cherry Tripper Knit Cardigan by House of Sunny

Price: £125

Jade also turned heads in a cherry-patterned cardigan by House of Sunny. Unfortunately, this popular ‘Cherry Tripper Knit Cardigan,’ known for its scalloped collar and embroidered details, is currently sold out on the brand’s website.

I’m really hoping they restock this item on End Clothing – I’m totally obsessed with it! It was reduced from £125 to £94, but sadly it’s sold out right now. If it doesn’t come back, though, that’s okay, because House of Sunny has so many other cool and unique knitwear pieces, and a lot of them are on sale on their website right now.

Stephen’s jumpsuit, episode 8

Brand: Shortsleeves Polo Jumpsuit by Palomo Spain

Price: ~£400

While Jade kicked off the fashion on The Traitors season 4, Stephen’s jumpsuit has truly stolen the show. The vibrant blue, orange, and green retro-style one-piece is from the Spanish brand Palomo Spain, part of their Spring Summer 2022 collection. Interestingly, Harry Styles also wore a version of the same jumpsuit – in black and white – when he performed at Capital’s Summertime Ball in 2022.

The brand released a similar long-sleeved jumpsuit in four colors in February 2023 for €490 (approximately £426.50). We can therefore estimate that the short-sleeved version likely cost a little less.

I’ve been doing some serious digging online, trying to track down that amazing jumpsuit, but it seems to be completely gone! I checked everywhere, even resale sites, and came up empty. The brand itself doesn’t even have any jumpsuits right now, which is a real shame. Honestly, my only hope is if Stephen decides to sell his on Vinted. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

Harriet’s lime green jacket, episode 1

Brand: Bright green oversized jacket by Essentiel Antwerp

Price: £340

Harriet was memorable for the comforting scarves she always wore on the show. Viewers particularly remember her wearing one while confronting the Traitors in a private interview, and again during a tense discussion with Rachel before she was ultimately eliminated.

Before scarves became her go-to, she loved a bright lime green jacket by Essentiel Antwerp, known for its dramatic, three-quarter length sleeves. Sadly, it’s no longer available – and originally cost a pretty penny at £340, so maybe that’s a good thing!

Rachel’s all-red outfit, episode 7

Brand: Cherry On Top Earrings by Oriflame Sweden

Price: £9.99

Rachel, known for her comfortable and casual style when doing school pick-ups, surprised and impressed everyone with a striking all-red outfit.

Although we don’t know exactly what she was wearing, you can easily copy her look with simple, matching-colored layers. She finished her outfit with these Cherry On Top Earrings from Oriflame Sweden, and at just £9.99, they’re a great bargain!

Matthew’s banishment sweater vest, episode 10

Brand: Skara Slipover by Walker Slater

Price: £89

Matthew frequently wore colorful, patterned knitwear while at the castle. He was even seen wearing a stylish sweater vest twice: once layered over a green shirt during his exile at the round table, and again in episode 6 with a short-sleeved orange shirt.

Okay, let’s talk about Matthew’s style. I’ve been tracking his wardrobe, and that sweater vest he’s been sporting? I’m pretty sure it’s the Skara Slipover from Walker Slater, a cool Scottish brand based right in his hometown of Edinburgh. It’ll set you back about £89. It fits his vibe perfectly – he clearly loves supporting Scottish designers. And if you caught episode 4, you might recognize another piece from them – the Scalloway Pullover, which retails for £148. It’s a smart, understated look he keeps returning to.
