The Traitors UK and Celebrity Traitors future confirmed by BBC as series extended to at least 2030

Get ready for more twists and turns! The BBC has announced it’s renewing both The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors for another three years, meaning you can expect to see them on BBC One through 2030.

This critically acclaimed psychological thriller will keep viewers hooked with its complex plot, shocking surprises, hidden truths, daring adventures, betrayals, exiles, and, as always, plenty of suspenseful murders.

I’m thrilled to hear the show’s been renewed! It really shows the BBC is committed to creating amazing, original entertainment that everyone in the UK can enjoy together. They’re clearly focused on delivering content that you absolutely can’t miss, and I think this renewal proves they’re succeeding.

This agreement solidifies iPlayer as the main UK destination for all things Traitors. You can watch not only the UK version, but also exciting series from around the world – including the US, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

As a huge fan of The Traitors and The Celebrity Traitors, I’m thrilled to hear the BBC is committed to the show all the way to 2030! I know a lot of us appreciate how brilliantly it’s made, and I’m so glad the BBC and Studio Lambert Scotland are continuing this amazing series. They really deserve the recognition for bringing such a fantastic show to our screens.

We’re excited to continue surprising and entertaining audiences throughout the UK for years to come.

Last year, the reality show The Traitors was a huge hit again, drawing an average of 14.9 million viewers throughout the season. The final episode was particularly popular, reaching a peak of 15.4 million viewers.

The episode was a huge hit, becoming the most-watched entertainment program since 2016 and the leading series in any genre, on any platform, in 2025.

The fourth season of The Traitors, which premiered earlier this year, averaged 12.5 million viewers over 28 days. Most of those viewers – 6.6 million, or 53% – watched on BBC iPlayer. This makes it the second most popular series across all platforms since the beginning of 2025, surpassed only by The Celebrity Traitors.

Stephen Lambert, head of Studio Lambert, shared that The Traitors has become a major hit, particularly in the UK, and they’re delighted to keep making it with the BBC. He said viewers can look forward to many more seasons filled with clever gameplay, suspense, and surprising moments.

Fans can expect new seasons of The Traitors every year starting in 2027. Season five will air on BBC One and iPlayer, followed by seasons six, seven, and eight in 2028, 2029, and 2030 respectively.

I’m so excited! I heard that Season 2 of The Celebrity Traitors is coming out later in 2026, and then they’re already planning seasons 3, 4, and 5 to follow in 2027, 2028, and 2029 respectively. It sounds like we’ll have plenty of betrayals to look forward to for years to come!

You can currently watch seasons 1 through 4 of The Traitors, as well as season 1 of The Celebrity Traitors, on BBC iPlayer.
