Now that the Call of Duty NEXT event and the Black Ops 7 beta are almost here, I thought it would be fun to test our Windows Central community’s knowledge of the Black Ops series with a quiz.
The Black Ops series has consistently pushed the Call of Duty franchise in new directions. While many shooters at the time favored dull, realistic colors, Black Ops stood out with its vibrant and colorful maps, which remain popular and well-regarded today.
As an analyst covering the Call of Duty franchise, I’ve seen the Black Ops series take players on some truly incredible journeys – from the historical intensity of Stalingrad to the mind-bending experiments of Project Blackout. Despite all that’s happened, the team at Treyarch has made it clear they don’t see Black Ops 7 as an ending, but rather as another step forward for the series.
Treyarch’s production director, Yale Miller, indicated that the studio isn’t finished with the *Call of Duty: Black Ops* series, saying they still have plenty of stories to tell. He pointed to the established storyline of *Black Ops 3* as proof that there’s more to explore within that universe.
The Black Ops series has a rich story and lengthy campaigns, offering lots of potential for future games. Its popular Zombies mode is equally promising. Zombies has become a huge experience in itself, with its own detailed storyline, memorable characters, and terrifying enemies.
Take our quiz below and test your Call of Duty: Black Ops knowledge:
The latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops 7, will be available on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC starting November 14th. As the newest installment in the long-running series, it promises a brand-new cooperative story campaign and plenty of content to enjoy after you finish it. Players can also expect the familiar fast-paced multiplayer action, now with a slightly more futuristic feel, and a continuation of the popular Dark Aether storyline in the Zombies mode.
Black Ops 7 is the first Call of Duty game that’s part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program. This means if you buy it once, you can play it on your PC, Xbox console, or through Xbox Cloud Gaming. It will also be available to play immediately with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass subscription.
For more intel on Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, stay tuned for Call of Duty NEXT 2025 on September 30.
