The story of *Twilight* is popular again! Stephenie Meyer’s books about Bella Swan and Edward Cullen have been a part of pop culture for years, and this year is the 20th anniversary of the first book. This milestone is bringing renewed interest to the films, and all five movies in *The Twilight Saga* are now available to stream on Hulu, quickly becoming some of the most-watched titles.
All five *Twilight* movies—*Twilight*, *New Moon*, *Eclipse*, *Breaking Dawn – Part 1*, and *Breaking Dawn – Part 2*—are now available on Hulu as of October 1st. They were briefly unavailable for streaming after leaving Netflix at the end of June. Just a few days after returning to Hulu, *Twilight* has already become the most popular movie, with *New Moon* close behind at number 3. *Eclipse* is currently at number 12, just outside the Top 10. It’s unclear how long these films will stay popular or if the others will climb the charts, but *The Twilight Saga* consistently performs well on streaming platforms. Earlier this year, the movies also appeared in Netflix’s Top 10 when they were added to that service.
Why Does Twilight Remain So Popular?
The continued success of *The Twilight Saga* on streaming platforms like Hulu and Netflix proves the series remains incredibly popular, and a big part of that is nostalgia. *Twilight* deeply resonated with millennials when the first movie came out in 2008. The films were huge at the box office and had a lasting impact on a generation, bringing vampire stories back into the mainstream. The series also changed how fans connect with each other, fostering online communities where people could share their love for Bella, Edward, Jacob, and the world Stephanie Meyer built. Now, two decades later, rewatching *Twilight* offers a comforting escape and a chance for fans to relive a special time in their lives through a beloved fantasy story.
The continued success of *Twilight* is partly due to its influence on how books are made into movies. The film series broke ground by splitting the final book into two films, a strategy later used with *The Hunger Games*. *Twilight* doesn’t seem to be losing popularity either. As the book celebrates its anniversary, it’s finding new readers who are then discovering the movies too.
The Twilight Saga is now streaming Hulu.
