In 2022, The Undertaker was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and subsequently retired from active wrestling. However, he has made several appearances on WWE television since then, with some even involving him stepping back into the ring, albeit not for a full match. His latest venture with WWE has been the A&E show LFG: Legends and Future Greats. But tonight, WWE announced an unexpected return for The Undertaker to WWE TV and the ring, an event that is scheduled to happen quite soon.
Tonight’s WWE NXT show saw Team Undertaker from LFG making an appearance, comprising Shiloh Hill, Dani Sekelsky, Bayley Humphrey, and Drake Morreaux. They were chatting backstage when the aggressive Trick Williams burst in following their 6-man Tag match incident, obviously seeking confrontation.
Williams made it clear to them that since they’re now stars on A&E, they might think they can act freely in NXT. But he sternly warned them, “If anyone here is feeling particularly adventurous, feel free to demonstrate.” Drake Morreaux took the bait and moved towards him, but Shiloh intervened slightly. Eventually, Williams walked away, but not before advising Morreaux, “You should probably ask The Undertaker if it’s wise to challenge Trick Williams first.
Following Williams’ departure, a call arrived from The Undertaker, who seemed upset about how events transpired. It was then that The Undertaker posted on X, saying, “@_TrickWilliams, you showed disregard for my #WWELFG team…you disrespected me! I’ll be in H-Town next week. Whether or not I have the TNA title, you should probably avoid my territory!
It’s been revealed that The Undertaker will square off against Williams next week’s episode, which will be broadcast live from Houston, TX. This promises to be a significant event for NXT beyond their usual Performance Center setting. Given the history between Undertaker and LFG, it’s logical for him to appear there, particularly since we’re aiming to publicize LFG. Notably, LFG has been associated with NXT since its inception, as winners of each season receive an NXT contract and become a part of the program.
During the upcoming episode, we’ll witness the LFG winner from season 1 squaring off in a one-on-one battle, specifically against Jasper Troy. Since his debut in NXT with an impressive match against Oba Femi, Jasper has been creating a stir. Simultaneously, Oba Femi is set to defend his WWE NXT Championship in a Triple Threat encounter against Yoshiki Inamura and Josh Briggs.
In the upcoming episode, another significant plotline involves Blake Monroe, the latest sensation from NXT, who will make her singles match debut against Wren Sinclair. Jordynne Grace’s actions during this episode could significantly impact this encounter, given that it continues from Monroe’s betrayal at Great American Bash. After several weeks of fostering a friendship with Grace, Monroe deceived her and struck her with the Championship belt at Great American Bash, causing Grace to lose the NXT Women’s Championship.
