The Voice’s Season 29 Coaches Revealed

The Voice is welcoming home some familiar faces.

Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend will be back as coaches for the next season (29) of NBC’s singing competition, according to a statement made by the network on July 22nd.

This upcoming season, titled “The Voice: Champion Showdown,” will see a unique twist as the judges’ panel is made up of winners from past seasons of “The Voice” for the very first time in the show’s history.

As an overly enthusiastic admirer, let me share my excitement about the upcoming season! It’s going to be jam-packed with high-speed, cutthroat competitions, as per the network’s announcement. This fresh take on the format will undoubtedly up the ante for coaches and artists, making it a must-watch event!

Although some coaches might look familiar, viewers can anticipate unexpected plots as they journey through the upcoming season. Intriguingly, season 29, airing in spring 2026, will be structured into four distinct phases, each introducing fresh obstacles and benefits.

In the contest known as “The Blinds”, competing coaches aim to outdo one another during the “Three-Chair Turn Challenge”. Their objective is to secure the highest number of turnarounds, which are extended offers, from the pool of aspiring talents.

In the competition known as The Battles, the coach who manages the most rotations of their chairs secures a “Super Steal” privilege. This Super Steal overrules any other coach’s attempts at stealing and ensures that they will emerge victorious.

The third round, called the Knockouts, involves each coach recalling two popular artists from past seasons to participate in a “Seasonal All-Star Battle.” These artists will go up against one another, aiming to secure the most victories for their respective teams.

Ultimately, the nine leading contenders will participate in the semifinals, from which the final four will proceed to the grand finale.

In a groundbreaking move for the first time ever, an exclusive voting group consisting of devoted viewers and previous contestants from “The Voice” will be allowed to participate in the competition. This new voting block can cast their votes live in the studio auditorium during the semi-final and final rounds.

Clarkson will continue to juggle tasks, as she not only hosts her daily talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, but also takes on the role of a coach during season 29 of The Voice.

Previously announced by NBC, the upcoming season 28, airing this fall, will see the return of coaches Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and country music legend Reba McEntire.

In the meantime, keep reading to look back at some of the show’s most memorable past contestants.

I was absolutely captivated by SandyRedd last season, her striking long, curly tresses were simply iconic. Her voice was nothing short of mesmerizing, reminiscent of the legendary Janis Joplin. Not only did she garner praise from music icons like Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson, but they both championed her talent. Regrettably, SandyRedd was sent home during the live shows, leaving a void that I, as an ardent fan, can still feel to this day.

However, the previous competitor hasn’t halted her vocal performances! Instead, she’s been traveling across the United States. Recently, she made an appearance at The Peppermint Club for a Pre-Grammy party.

Kyla Jade was among the exceptional contestants on Blake Shelton’s team, eventually finishing in third position. Following her elimination, the soulful singer has remained quite occupied.

Last December, she unveiled her Christmas album, and since then, she’s been gracing stages all over—ranging from City Winery in Nashville to the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Moreover, she’s slated to take the stage at the 24th Annual Trumpet Awards.

During the Blind Auditions, Noah Mac captured everyone’s attention, even that of Blake Shelton, but ultimately joined Team Jennifer Hudson. Unfortunately, he was let go during the live shows.

Currently, a teen from Dublin is nearing the end of his high school years. Not too long ago, he unveiled his newest single titled “Eyes for Us,” and it’s anticipated that his first studio album will be released shortly.

Stephanie Rice delivered an unforgettable performance of Taylor Swift’s “Safe and Sound,” but unfortunately, she was still eliminated during the live shows. Initially, she was part of Team Gwen Stefani, eventually moving to Team Alicia Keys for the final rounds.

Today, I’m thrilled to share that the talented artist I follow has recently unveiled a lyric video for her freshly released single titled “Pages.” It’s always a joy to witness their creative journey!

She declared that “[Pages]” is a song against oppression. She explained, “I can merely pen down my personal narrative, and this is mine. Reading a brief passage from a book made me feel like I was destined for hell for the person I loved. It was deeply engrained in me as a child.

In a chilling rendition of “Love on the Brain” originally sung by Rihanna, Jason Warrior showcased his talent. Regrettably, this performance didn’t prevent him from being eliminated during the live playoffs. Warrior was part of both Adam Levine and Alicia Keys’ teams, eventually receiving a reprieve from Blake Shelton’s team.

There’s no need for concern, as the artist hasn’t ceased creating music. In fact, he dropped his newest track, “Walking With You,” in early February, and he intends to go on tour towards the end of this year.

In a captivating moment, it was impossible for Blake Shelton not to swivel his chair as he listened to Mary Sarah’s breathtaking version of “Where the Boys Are”. Regrettably, her exceptional talent on stage did not guarantee her survival in the live performances, as she was ultimately eliminated.

Ever since then, Sarah has kept herself quite occupied. She dropped her single titled “Just Go With It” around the start of last year, followed by a Christmas album in December. More recently, it was disclosed that she boasts nearly half a million listeners on Spotify across 62 diverse nations.

As a dedicated lifestyle expert, I’ve made a name for myself by reimagining some of pop music’s most iconic tunes, such as NSYNC’s “Bye, Bye, Bye” and Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” My journey began on Team Pharrell Williams, but it was Adam Levine who gave me a chance to stay in the competition. However, during the live shows, I unfortunately had to bid farewell to the stage.

Since that time, she’s put out a solo track and made an appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show during the “Instant Songwriter Battle” segment.

This season was packed with outstanding vocalists, and two particularly impressive ones were Meghan Linsey from country music and Koryn Hawthorne in gospel. While Linsey initially started with Team Pharrell, she concluded her journey on Team Blake, contrastingly, Hawthorne stayed with Team Pharrell during her entire stint on the show.

After departing from their previous engagements, Linsey has been busy producing music and performing concerts across the nation. Meanwhile, Hawthorne secured a deal with RCA Inspiration and launched her first album titled “Unstoppable“, which garnered her a Grammy nomination.

In a stunning rendition of Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years,” Matt McAndrew secured a place on Team Adam during the competition. Previously the runner-up, this artist had already signed with Republic Records prior to announcing their separation, which occurred in early 2016.

After that, he put out an EP titled “Rush in Slowly” and his most recent single, “Game Over,” in September of the previous year. Lately, he’s been traveling globally, with recent performances in Prague, Vienna, Milan, and Paris.

In a YouTube video viewed over a million times, Sisaundra Lewis delivered an exceptional rendition of Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way.” This performance left all four judges turning their chairs. Later, after picking Team Blake, she was unexpectedly eliminated during the live rounds, shocking many viewers.

Since then, she has still been releasing music, and the host of her own talk show, AFRO.

During the live shows, Cole Vosbury was part of Team Blake, but he got eliminated. Notably, he delivered standout renditions of “Let It Go” and “Movin’ On Up.

Ever since then, he’s teamed up with former colleague Amanda June to form The Lovers. This dynamic duo has been producing music and performing concerts across the country.

A YouTube video of Mary Miranda singing Selena’s “Como la Flor” has garnered over 4 million views. Born and bred in Havana, this singer managed to turn three out of four judges’ chairs, eventually joining Team Shakira. However, she was eliminated during the knockout rounds on that team.

Now, the singer seems to be taking a break from singing, as she enjoys being a mother.

You may recognize the name – Melanie Martinez, who made her mark on “The Voice” and stood out on Adam Levine’s team. Unfortunately, her journey ended during the live performances.

However, since that time, she’s moved forward by signing with Atlantic Records. Her first album, “Cry Baby,” was subsequently certified platinum!

RaeLynn delivered a captivating rendition of The Band Perry’s “If I Die Young.” Notably, this gifted country artist was among the top performers on Team Blake, but unfortunately, she was voted off during the live performances.

Ever since then, she’s been on the road, most recently sharing stages with the Grammy-winning artist Maren Morris during her Girl: The World Tour. Not too long ago, RaeLynn unveiled her single “Rowdy” in early 2019.

Nakia excelled on Team CeeLo Green during the live shows, but ultimately got eliminated. During his initial audition, he delivered a soulful version of CeeLo Green’s “Forget You”. Throughout the season, he showcased his talent with strong performances of songs like “Sex on Fire” and Adam Lambert’s “Whataya Want from Me.

Currently, the blues artist is traveling across the nation, fresh off the release of his much-awaited album titled “Blues Grifter“.
