In a surprising twist, No Man’s Sky continues to outperform predictions. Following its challenging debut in 2016 across PlayStation 4 and PC platforms, this game has achieved what some describe as an incredible resurgence.
Over the years, it has grown significantly, with a total of 35 major upgrades, surpassing its initial scope. During this journey, it made its way onto both Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms, and since 2020, it’s been part of the Xbox Game Pass library, where it continues to reside today.
Now, with the new Voyagers update live, there’s never been a better time to jump in.
Voyagers introduces buildable Corvettes
Initially, I intended to delve deeply into the rocky beginnings of No Man’s Sky in 2016. However, it seems redundant at this point given the game’s remarkable transformation. By November 2024, it had achieved a Very Positive rating on Steam – a testament to its progress and Hello Games’ success in reestablishing trust. Henceforth, let’s shift our attention to the current events, specifically Voyagers.
Voyagers presents a fresh line of starships, called Corvettes, which you can personalize entirely according to your preferences. You can customize every aspect – from the ship’s body to its wings and engine – and fans have been quick to share their unique designs. In a short span of time, I’ve already come across various amazing creations, ranging from Halo’s famous Pelican to Gundam’s, as well as original ships that are truly impressive.
Every Corvette comes equipped with a spacious interior you can traverse freely, enhancing the feeling of scale and immersion in No Man’s Sky. You have the option to explore these areas alone or with companions, making the game even more awe-inspiring. To facilitate easy access for players, Voyagers now offer a new expedition that speeds up the process of unlocking the shipyard and vital components for your initial construction.
Walkable starships and shared adventures
Corvettes are not merely vessels; they’re expansive spaces equipped with medical bays, living accommodations, mission control centers, transporters, strategic command rooms, and a plethora of additional features.
You can invite your friends to join you aboard these ships, transforming them into a shared playground for collaboration. Here, you can customize, discover, and voyage through the cosmos as a team.
Alongside its other features, Voyagers allows you to experience spacewalking – stepping out of your spaceship in outer space or even skydiving from one Corvette to another. This is an unexpected yet indispensable feature that I never thought I’d see added nearly a decade post-launch.
Practically speaking, a Corvette operates as a portable living space that travels with you, going from one planet to another. It’s no longer just a vehicle; it’s a home you can carry wherever you go.
Powered by Light no Fire technology

Greetings! Hello Games has hinted that several features found in Voyager’s systems share the underlying technology of their upcoming project, Light No Fire. As a devoted follower, I can hardly wait to witness how this technology unfolds in the new game!
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at the revelation that practically every aspect of No Man’s Sky was painstakingly revamped to integrate the update. It only adds to my admiration for the game’s transformation!
As I delve into the immersive universe of Light No Fire, I’m captivated by its Earth-like expanse, teeming with colossal oceans and continents ripe for exploration. The concept of Corvettes in No Man’s Sky sparks an intriguing thought: could these not be gigantic sea vessels, sailing the vast open waters, offering tantalizing glimpses into the rich tapestry of experiences this new game promises?
In 2023, the studio initially unveiled Light No Fire as a highly anticipated release for me. Having witnessed the capabilities of Voyagers, I’m genuinely excited to delve deeper into their forthcoming venture.
Player surge shows just how real the hype is

Following the launch of Voyagers, there’s been a significant increase in players for No Man’s Sky. On Steam, the number of simultaneous players even surpassed 97,000, marking a record high not seen in quite some time.
The internet is buzzing with enthusiasts proudly displaying their Corvettes and eagerly jumping back into play, generating a palpable atmosphere of anticipation concerning the new update.
I find myself just as intrigued as well! After wrapping up my efforts to promote democracy in Helldivers 2, I’m eagerly looking forward to re-engaging again.
Can there possibly be even more in store for No Man’s Sky?

Each time an update comes out for No Man’s Sky, I often think there can’t be any more features left to include. However, Hello Games always manages to astound not just me but also the larger community with their creative additions. With Light No Fire still in progress and its systems already being integrated into No Man’s Sky, it seems like the potential is vast and endless.
From my perspective, it’s essential we focus more on the early stages for novice players. With an abundance of complex systems stacked together, embarking on a new journey can feel overpowering and intimidating. I find myself wondering what adjustments other gamers might suggest next, because if the past is any indication, the team at Hello Games still has grand ideas waiting to be realized.
