The Walking Dead icon confirmed for all-new ITV series – and not in a role you would expect

Later this year, ITV and ITVX will debut a new series called Force of Nature, narrated by Andrew Lincoln.

The new six-part series, Force of Nature, took three years to create and shows how nature is responding to increasingly severe weather events. It’s been called a truly captivating look at this important topic.

I’m completely captivated by this series! It’s not just about nature, it’s about the incredible stories of animals facing some of the most powerful and destructive forces on Earth – things like hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. It really shows how resilient nature is, and how clever animals are at surviving against the odds. It’s dramatic, emotional, and truly inspiring to watch.

Andrew Lincoln described “Force of Nature” as a truly unique series. He praised the team for beautifully filming the incredible wildlife and providing a rare, intimate look at the challenges animals face daily. He believes the show offers a fresh perspective, highlighting the powerful effect weather has on creatures around the globe – something other wildlife documentaries often miss.

This incredible series showcases the challenges and triumphs of animals across the globe, from chimpanzees in Senegal and sea otters in California, to huge flocks of Caribbean flamingos and the majestic polar bears of the Arctic.

Jo Clinton Davis, ITV’s factual controller, said they’re thrilled to premiere this fascinating and visually stunning series about the animal kingdom, created by Plimsoll Productions. It offers a fresh look at the constantly evolving world of animals.

Filming this show was a huge undertaking, spanning three years and incredibly challenging landscapes. Andrew Lincoln’s narration truly makes this fascinating television come alive.

As a big TV watcher, I’ve noticed ITV really stepping up when it comes to climate change programming. They made a promise back in 2021 – along with most of the other major UK channels – to make sure they’re including shows that help us all understand what’s happening with the environment and, hopefully, inspire us to make more eco-friendly choices. ‘Force of Nature’ is just one example of them keeping that promise, which is great to see.

Mark Brownlow, head of natural history at Plimsoll Productions, explained that while he previously worked on series like Blue Planet 2 and Frozen Planet 2, this new project is even more ambitious and focuses on what he believes is the most critical issue facing us today.

We all feel the impact of increasingly severe weather. This film shares an inspiring story of animals bravely facing these dramatic events. It’s a heartwarming and thrilling adventure that will immediately capture your attention!

Force of Nature will air on ITV1 and ITVX later this year.
