I’m so excited about the new X-Files reboot! We already knew Danielle Deadwyler would be one of the new FBI agents, and now we know who her partner will be – Himesh Patel! It’s awesome that the two leads from Station Eleven are reuniting to take on these iconic roles. A key to the original success of The X-Files was the strong working relationship between David Duchovny (as Fox Mulder) and Gillian Anderson (as Dana Scully). Scully, as a doctor, approached everything with a scientific mindset and sought realistic answers.

I’m really curious to see if the relationship between these new FBI agents will be the heart of the reboot, like Mulder and Scully’s was. All we know so far is it’ll follow two agents who are already highly respected, and they’re paired up for a strange new case. Honestly, that’s a big shift from the original! In the first X-Files, Scully was pretty new to the FBI when she started working with Mulder, and Mulder, despite being smart, had to earn his reputation as ‘Spooky Mulder.’ It’ll be interesting to see how these new agents build their dynamic when they’re already established pros.

One of the biggest unknowns about Ryan Coogler’s new take on The X-Files is how the new characters will develop and what their personalities will be like. Fortunately, both Jada Deadwyler and Karan Patel are talented actors who have given strong performances in the past, so whatever roles they play should be interesting. Fans probably shouldn’t expect them to simply recreate the dynamic between Scully and Mulder, especially since it’s still unclear if Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will be involved in the reboot.
