Now that Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler are starring in Ryan Coogler’s upcoming reboot of The X-Files, more actors joining the cast have been revealed.
The show will also feature new cast members, including Oscar winner Amy Madigan (known for her work in Weapons) and Steve Buscemi, famous for his role in Reservoir Dogs. Their specific roles haven’t been announced yet.
Joining the cast are Ben Foster, playing Christy, along with Devery Jacobs as Echo, Lochlyn Munro as Peacemaker, Tantoo Cardinal (known for her work in Killers of the Flower Moon), Joel D Montgrand (from True Detective), and Sofia Grace Clifton (of The Muppets Mayhem).
Patel and Deadwyler will portray two FBI agents, both highly accomplished but with very different approaches, who unexpectedly connect while reopening a forgotten division focused on strange and unexplainable cases.

Gillian Anderson, known for her role in The X-Files, has given the new series her blessing. She mentioned at Awesome Con in Washington DC that she’s spoken with creator Ryan Coogler a few times and thinks he’s very talented and a great person.
She added that the first episode was very strong and encouraged everyone to approach the project with an open mind, promising it would be fantastic and unlike anything they’d seen before.
It’s still uncertain if Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny will return as Dana Scully and Fox Mulder in the upcoming series.
The planned reboot, led by showrunner Jennifer Yale, is currently just a pilot episode. It’s still uncertain if the show will be picked up for a full season, or if it will be cancelled like the proposed revival of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
