There’s Some inFAMOUS: Second Son in Control Resonant, Says Remedy

Remedy Entertainment recently revealed another game that influenced Control Resonant: inFAMOUS: Second Son. We already knew about other inspirations, but this adds another piece to the puzzle.

In a recent preview, GameSpot reported that the director and combat designer of the upcoming sequel discussed their open-world superhero game, referencing Sucker Punch’s work while showcasing new gameplay.

We’re definitely seeing similarities between the two works already. Both center around a man with incredible powers who can do things that shouldn’t be physically possible, and both are set in cities that players can explore.

Both games include close-quarters fighting, but Control Resonant appears to emphasize it much more than inFAMOUS did.

The previews for Control Resonant highlight its fast-paced combat, comparing it to games like Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, and even Delsin Rowe’s action in Seattle, which is really promising.

The game promises quick and exciting combat, and revolves around the Aberrant – a powerful, transforming hammer.

The combat system is really satisfying. You build up energy by using basic attacks, which then lets you unleash powerful abilities. These abilities stun enemies, creating opportunities for finishing moves that can even boost your melee damage. When you get the hang of it, you’ll be able to defeat enemies quickly and efficiently.

These early looks suggest this game is developing into something special, and it might offer a similar experience to inFAMOUS. Although it’s not a completely open world, the idea of flying around a city, battling enemies, and enjoying Remedy’s unique style sounds very promising.
