This 49g wireless gaming mouse pleasantly surprised me in a lot of ways, including which company made it

I handle a broad range of ASUS items because they produce numerous products. What particularly appeals to me about the company is their lineup of laptops, screens, and gaming equipment. However, up until recently, their accessories haven’t managed to impress me – but that has changed.

The ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Mini is a wireless gaming mouse that offers top-notch performance in an ultra-light design, ensuring a fantastic user experience. Priced at $130, this versatile mouse is a great investment, and I’ve noticed it often goes on sale for significantly less.

This new paraphrase maintains the original meaning while using simpler sentence structures and more common phrasing, making it easier to read and understand.

For those seeking a compact yet swift and dependable wireless mouse, the ROG Harpe Ace Mini could be an excellent choice. If you prioritize a high 8,000Hz polling rate, however, you might have to search for ASUS’ elusive (and optional) polling rate booster.

A sensible design with seriously little weight

The ASUS Harpe Ace Mini gaming mouse deviates from the typical flashy and bold designs usually seen in their gaming accessories. Instead, it’s a compact, ambidextrous model that caters more to right-handed users. It’s crafted entirely out of sleek, matte plastic with minimal decorative elements.

Many individuals appreciate a smaller, versatile peripheral for both gaming and work, and the Harpe Ace Mini truly excels in this regard. I am particularly fond of its ergonomic design, which suits various grip styles, and at just 49 grams, it is one of the lightest high-performance gaming mice I’ve encountered.

The Harpe Ace Mini, much like other high-performing mice, boasts a streamlined simplicity. However, it stands out by being smaller and lighter than most of its counterparts in the high-performance mouse category.

The delicate grooves on the sides provide firm grips, the optical mouse buttons have a tactile and responsive feel, the PTFE feet ensure a smooth movement (capable of gliding over various surfaces), and it even includes RGB lighting subtly incorporated into the scroll wheel.

Regarding its compact design, it offers a durable internal battery, a designated space for storing the 2.4GHz wireless adapter, and three control buttons at the base – a DPI setting button, a pairing button, and a toggle for connectivity modes.

While ‘simple’ can sometimes be challenging to execute effectively, ASUS has managed to pull it off impressively in this case. However, the matte black finish seems to be quite fond of collecting fingerprints and smudges. Additionally, I find the scroll wheel a bit too soft for my personal preference.

A great experience from hardware to software

Despite its compact size, the ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Mini delivers impressive power. Inside, it boasts a highly accurate and dependable 42,000 Dots-per-Inch (DPI) optical sensor, and I’ve found its performance to be top-notch.

Other mice exist that boast greater weight and comparable pricing, but they may not deliver the same high-performance standards as the Asus Harpe Ace Mini. The Asus Armoury Crate offers numerous personalization and fine-tuning options for this mini gaming mouse.

This mouse offers a pretty complete experience across the hardware and software.

You can customize various settings on the Harpe Ace Mini mouse, such as reassigning buttons, adjusting DPI sensitivity, enabling angle snapping or fine-tuning, calibrating for diverse mousepad surfaces, and more. Navigating through these features is simple, and if you only own ASUS products, the mouse supports the lightweight Armoury Crate software developed by ASUS.

If you utilize it, the 2.4GHz wireless receiver within the package allows connection to two distinct ASUS devices that are compatible. ASUS also provides a stylish, braided USB cable along with a USB extender in the package, ensuring your setup can be customized to suit your preferences.

It’s great that the Harpe Ace Mini comes with built-in Bluetooth connectivity, although this isn’t always a given in high-performance gaming mice. While productivity users might appreciate a few additional buttons, the compact yet powerful design of the Harpe Ace Mini makes it an ideal travel accessory as well.

In addition, I didn’t encounter any problems related to longevity either. ASUS claims a battery life of approximately 130 hours, which seems accurate based on my tests. However, this number doesn’t factor in the support for up to 8,000Hz polling rate.

The ROG Harpe Ace Mini is commonly considered a top-tier gaming mouse, however, it doesn’t come with ASUS’s Polling Rate Booster included in the package. In fact, it can be quite challenging to find this feature even if you are prepared to pay more for it.

ROG Harpe Ace Mini review: My final thoughts

✅You should buy this if …

  • You’re looking for a compact wireless gaming mouse.
  • You also want fantastic performance in that small package.
  • You value Bluetooth connectivity in your gaming mouse.

❌You should not buy this if …

  • You want 8,000Hz polling and you want it to be easy.
  • You want a mouse with more features for productivity and creativity.

Absolutely, ASUS has managed to impress me with the ROG Harpe Ace Mini wireless gaming mouse. This mouse stands out for its sleek design and portability, making it perfect for travel. The build quality is robust, ensuring durability. Its performance is consistently top-notch, and the overall user experience, from software features to battery life, is hard to fault.

There are certainly some aspects that need refinement, but overall, I really like what ASUS has done. However, the top-notch performance requires an extra purchase which, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find available in my region.

You probably won’t need a 8,000Hz polling rate to find value in this mouse, but if you’re on the hunt for a compact device that offers high-performance gaming, check out the ASUS ROG Harpe Ace Mini. It’s currently available at Amazon.com and BestBuy.com for just $129.99 – keep an eye out for sales, as it has been known to drop to $100 occasionally.
