This Is the Craziest Version of Hulk Ever

The Hulk is a character that invites multiple interpretations, and he’s quite the spectacle – a towering figure fueled by anger, capable of demolishing anything in his path, making him incredibly fascinating. Marvel has explored numerous variations of the Hulk across different realms and timelines, such as the Maestro, Atomic Iron Fist from the Ultimate Universe, She-Hulk, and Hell Hulk. Over the years, countless alternate versions of the Hulk have emerged, but there’s one that stands out as even more chaotic and dangerous than the rest, considering his competition is Marvel’s largest, most ferocious, and greenest character. That character is Weapon H, also known as the Hulkverine, who I find absolutely thrilling.

What Is Weapon H?

Clayton Cortez, previously a US Marine, transitioned to work for private defense contractor Eaglestar International. A mission required him to destroy an entire village in Ujanka, but when he refused to participate in the massacre and turned against his own team, he was captured and sold to Dr. Aliana Alba of the Weapon X program. Her goal was to create a superior cyborg by fusing the DNA of Hulk and Wolverine within him. This involved injecting nanobots into his system, coating his skeleton with adamantium, and surgically removing certain parts of his brain for easier control by the reprehensible organization. They transformed him into a lethal weapon, driven to demonstrate he was the ultimate predator. Upon release, he demonstrated his deadly capabilities by dismantling Weapon H-Beta, proving he was the most powerful among them.

Weapon H is a cyborg character created by combining two formidable, enraged Marvel heroes, merging their top traits into one entity. In his altered form, Weapon H inherits the immense strength, resilience, and unrelenting aggression of the Hulk, with the added ability to grow stronger as he becomes more angry, much like the Green Giant. His durability is virtually limitless, mirroring that of the Jade Giant. Additionally, he possesses a healing factor similar to Wolverine, making him nearly indestructible given his human baseline resilience and the Hulk’s almost impenetrable skin. As a Weapon X subject, post-Wolverine, he was equipped with retractable claws, extending from both hands, shoulders, upper arms, and legs, and has an adamantium skeleton, making him one of Earth’s most fearsome beings. However, Weapon H’s true power lies in his ability to temporarily transform into various Hulk forms, acquiring their unique abilities such as Red Hulk’s heat powers or Red Harpy’s wings and talons. In essence, Weapon H is extremely lethal.

More Than a Monster

Regrettably for Alba, fortunately for everyone else, there was enough of Clayton’s brain left undamaged to allow him to regain consciousness and break free from their control. He barely recognized himself, except that he had a family, and he would go to great lengths to safeguard them. Escaping the Weapon X facility, he systematically demolished every Eaglestar facility in his path to ensure no records of him were left for other supervillain corporations to exploit. He ultimately reconnected with his wife and twin children, battling both corporations and monsters to achieve a tranquil life with his loved ones. Known as Weapon H, he transitioned into a hero, joining teams like the War Avengers during critical moments, such as during the War of the Realms and Absolute Carnage events. However, he primarily yearns for a peaceful existence with his family, away from the limelight.
