Lara Croft is a hugely popular and recognizable gaming character, so whenever a new actor takes on the role of voicing her, it’s a significant event.
Keeley Hawes is best known for portraying Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider: Legend and Tomb Raider: Anniversary games. Camilla Luddington then took over the role for the subsequent three Tomb Raider games.
Alix Wilton Regan, a well-known voice actress, will once again play Lara Croft in the remakes of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst.
Many of you may recognize her from games like Cyberpunk 2077, where she voiced the character Alt Cunningham, among others.
Amazon Games praised the performance of the new Lara Croft, saying Regan’s portrayal brings a renewed energy and emotional complexity to the character, signaling a fresh start for the Tomb Raider series.
The actor shared on Instagram that landing the role of Lara Croft is the biggest achievement of their career, even more exciting than they ever imagined.
So, Legacy of Atlantis is basically a fresh take on the first game, and it happens after the three survival games we all know. Then, Catalyst comes even later in the timeline. It’s pretty clear Crystal Dynamics is trying to show us a Lara Croft who’s more experienced and self-assured with these newer games.
We reckon Regan’s going to do a great job!
