2020’s strategic game John Wick Hex on PlayStation 4 will be removed from all online marketplaces in the coming days. If you want to own it, now is your final opportunity!
On the 17th of July, the game will no longer be available for purchase. However, let me clarify that if you already own it, you can continue playing it. It’s not a digital-only release, so there’s no need to worry about online access or anything like that.
It’s quite surprising that, given John Wick’s massive action movie franchise status, its sole venture into video games took the form of Hex. Considering how popular such adaptations can be, we anticipated a major publisher would have already backed a high-profile game version by this point.
Instead, John Wick Hex is a single-player strategy game created by renowned independent developer Mike Bithell, known for his work on Thomas Was Alone. In this game, you assume the role of the iconic assassin, John Wick, and orchestrate actions to eliminate rooms filled with thugs using a command-based system.
In our evaluation, we observed that there’s a slight learning curve before the system becomes fully functional, but once you get accustomed to it, the experience is exceptionally fulfilling. If you’re seeking a reflective and engaging tool, it’s definitely worth exploring.
It appears John Wick Hex is being removed from sale. This usually happens when the game’s publisher can no longer afford the rights to the property it’s based on, but that might not be the case here; it could simply be a contractual issue. However, no official explanation has been provided yet.
Have you tried out John Wick Hex game? Are you considering getting it while it’s still available? Leave a comment if you like shooting targets, particularly in the head.
