This may just be the only Steam Deck dock you’ll ever need, with a full-size M.2 slot, active cooling, and an integrated display

As a researcher looking into Steam Deck accessories, I’ve been evaluating a lot of docks. I recently came across one called the Chizha Mount Ling Dock, and it really stands out. While the name is a bit unusual, it offers a lot more functionality than just adding extra ports – it’s genuinely quite innovative.

This dock is made by Dockcase, a Chinese company specializing in USB hubs and docks. I’ve used several of their hubs before, and they’re now expanding their product line with this dock designed for the Steam Deck. Dockcase is launching the ‘Chizha Mount Ling Dock’ on Kickstarter for $109, offering a $90 discount from its future retail price of $199.

The dock itself is one price, but you can also get a package with the dock and a standard USB hub for $169. We’re still big fans of the Steam Deck, and this new dock could be the ideal accessory for it.

This dock has a unique sci-fi design

Although it’s a bit expensive, this dock offers a lot of great features. Its distinctive design really sets it apart – it’s modeled after Lingshan Mountain near Beijing, with a stylish triangular shape. This eye-catching design immediately draws attention, and the rubberized base protects your Steam Deck from scratches.

And let’s not forget the RGB lighting! There are bright lighting strips on either side of the front. The dock’s sharp, modern design extends throughout, and I really appreciate the careful attention to detail Dockcase put into it. It is a bit larger than other docks I’ve tested, but it includes active cooling, which is great, and it’s designed so it doesn’t cover the Steam Deck’s vents.

All the ports you need — and then some

This dock offers a comprehensive range of ports for all your needs. It includes two USB-A ports, two USB-C ports, an HDMI 2.0 output, Ethernet, and an optical audio output. It connects to your Steam Deck via a dedicated USB-C port, and comes with a special angled 10Gbps USB-C cable for a secure connection.

One of the best features is the M.2 slot on the bottom of the dock. It lets you add up to 4TB of extra storage – it also supports smaller M.2 drives. You can then connect this to your Steam Deck and use the added space, which is really useful. Aside from formatting the drive so the Steam Deck recognizes it, everything worked perfectly.

One of the best parts of this dock is the front panel, which clearly shows if all your connections – like HDMI, the SSD slot, and power – are working. It also provides 100W of USB Power Delivery, meaning you can charge your Steam Deck while it’s connected. I tested it with my Steam Deck and had no problems – I was easily able to connect a mouse, keyboard, a 1TB SSD, and a monitor using the HDMI port.

The fan makes some noise when the dock is working hard, but it’s not overly distracting. Plus, since you typically won’t be right next to the dock, it’s unlikely to be a problem. I appreciate the extra features, and even though the built-in display isn’t essential, it’s a nice touch.

The Chizha Mount Ling Dock is a solid accessory for Steam Deck owners looking to enhance their experience. It’s currently available at a discounted price through crowdfunding, but that deal ends in three days, so it’s a good time to buy if you want to save money.
