If you own a Steam Deck, you’ve got one of the best handheld gaming devices out there – congratulations! Even though I’ve been trying out the Xbox ROG Ally, the Steam Deck is still incredibly impressive. However, you sometimes need to adjust settings to get the best performance from your games.
It’s not always easy to find the right settings when you’re on the go, or to spend time searching online (like I often do on Reddit) for solutions. Luckily, there’s now an app to help!
DeckSettings is a free app available on the Google Play Store that provides a searchable database of optimized settings for both LCD and OLED Steam Deck models, making it easy to find the perfect configuration for your games.
Check your game settings on the fly

Valve’s Steam Deck has a ‘Verified’ system to show which games run well on the device, but it’s not always accurate. I personally had to refund ‘Oblivion Remaster’ because of this! Sometimes, even with a good rating, you need to adjust the game’s settings to get it running smoothly. And occasionally, a game just won’t work, but that doesn’t mean you should give up.
Changing the wrong settings, or too many at once, can actually make performance *worse* without you knowing why. That’s where this app comes in. It provides performance reports from other players, giving you reliable information about how games run. These reports rate overall playability (from ‘bronze’ to ‘gold’) and include detailed data like framerates and benchmarks.
The app is currently available as an early build on the Google Play Store for Android users. iPhone users can sign up for the iOS beta, but testing is currently limited to existing testers.
Get the best performance out of your Steam Deck

DeckSettings helps you optimize your Steam Deck by fetching game configurations and presets from online communities like ShareDeck and SteamDeck HQ. It goes beyond simple settings, providing useful information like estimated FPS and battery life for each configuration. Combined with our 11 helpful tips, you can maximize both performance and playtime on your Steam Deck.
