THRASHER for PC launches November 7

I’m so hyped! THRASHER, which everyone’s calling a super cool cosmic racer and a must-play audiovisual experience, is finally coming to PC via Steam on November 7th! Creature and Puddle announced it, and the best part is it’ll work on regular screens and in VR – even on the Steam Deck! I can’t wait to check it out.

THRASHER first launched for Quest and Apple Vision Pro on July 25, 2024.

Here is an overview of the game, via Creature:

About

Okay, so the creator of THUMPER, which I absolutely loved, has a new game called THRASHER, and it’s wild! Imagine an arcade game from another planet – that’s what it feels like. You control this amazing space eel, and you basically swim and thrash your way through these unbelievably cool, but kinda creepy, alien worlds. The goal is to evolve your little worm into this huge, powerful beast by battling crazy bosses across 27 levels and nine totally psychedelic areas. You can compete for high scores using this really unique combo system, or just chill and enjoy the stunning visuals and atmosphere. It’s already won awards, and you can play it on PC, Steam Deck, and even in VR!

Transcend Spacetime by Eel

Dive into a mesmerizing experience where music, stunning visuals, and engaging gameplay combine seamlessly. Travel from dark, ancient beginnings to radiant, heavenly heights, ultimately facing an intense encounter with a powerful, otherworldly being.

You vs. the Universe

As a huge fan, let me tell you, this game is all about lightning-fast action! You’re constantly swooping, dashing, and battling through everything in your path. The way you build up combos is so unique – it’s all based around a circular system. And the best part? You face off against nine absolutely incredible, mysterious sea monsters that will really put your skills – and your patience – to the test!

Sound and Fury

I was totally blown away by the soundtrack for THRASHER! It was created by Brian Gibson, who’s actually the bassist for Lightning Bolt, which already gave me a good feeling. But seriously, the way they used spatial audio and haptics… it wasn’t just listening, it was a full-on sensory experience. It really pulls you in!

Chill or Challenge

Relax and have fun with the game’s energetic atmosphere, or challenge yourself to achieve high scores by linking together difficult moves and climbing the leaderboards. If you prioritize speed, try Time Trial mode, or test your skills with the incredibly difficult Play+ mode.

Many Ways to Play

  • PC – Gamepad and precision mouse controls.
  • Steam Deck – Running at a tasty 90 frames per second with both gamepad and trackpad controls.
  • PC Virtual Reality – Support for controllers and hand tracking.
