Three iconic superhero moments James Gunn refuses to film…

In the upcoming Superman movie, we won’t see another origin story. Instead, our hero will make his appearance fully developed. Recently, director James Gunn shared three key superhero scenes that he wouldn’t want to capture in this version of the film.

Instead of witnessing pearls in a back alley during Batman’s parents’ demise, I prefer not to be exposed to that scene. Similarly, I don’t want to watch the radioactive spider bite Spider-Man, and I’d rather not see baby Kal-El arriving from Krypton in a small rocket.

In truth, we admire this decision because aren’t we all tired of repeatedly witnessing such scenes in the recent adaptations and backstories of these superheroes? Interestingly, Gunn has additionally mentioned that his Superman movie will focus on compassion towards immigrants in the United States.

In essence, Superman symbolizes America’s narrative. He’s an immigrant who enriched the nation, but for me, it’s primarily a tale that underscores the importance of basic human kindness – a value we seem to have forgotten. Inevitably, there will be those who find this offensive simply because it emphasizes kindness. But to them, I say, ‘let them be.’

In my narrative, I’m sharing the tale of an extraordinary individual who embodies unwavering goodness. It seems that his arrival, timed as it often is when people are grappling with despair about humanity, is particularly relevant now. The cruelty that has surfaced online among cultural figures has left a void, and this story serves to fill it with hope. I don’t create films with the intention of altering the world, but if even a handful of hearts could be touched by his compassion, it would bring me immense joy.

We’re curious to discover if there are any other legendary superhero scenes that director James Gunn might decline to shoot; let’s find out together!
