Throne & Liberty – For the Ally’s Rests Guide | Sailor’s Keepsakes

As a seasoned adventurer with more than my fair share of close calls and embarrassing mishaps, I can tell you that this quest is quite the challenge, but it’s nothing a brave soul like yourself can’t handle!

In the game Throne & Liberty, there’s an encouragement to delve into exploration, even if it’s not essential for reaching the final stage. Some optional content tied to exploration includes filling up the codex. This guide will walk you through completing the quest “For the Ally’s Rests” within the Daybreak Shore area, which is quite simple but may need some time depending on when you decide to tackle it!

In this area, you’re likely aware that the task is carried out at a shipwreck located southwest of a designated landmark or reference point. For clarity, let me break it down step-by-step with a suggested navigational route: First, head towards the shipwreck, which lies to the southwest of our current position within this zone. I’ll guide you through the steps in an organized manner to facilitate easier comprehension and following along.

TIP: Since I’ve completed this long time back, there won’t be any symbols in my examples. If you save the exploration quest as a favorite, you should expect to find each keepsake marked with a light blue symbol on your map too.

Keepsake #1 – Inside the Wreckage

The initial item you’re searching for is located at the very bottom. Take a peek inside the debris, focusing particularly on the southeastern corner. That’s where you’ll spot the first trinket, which will be sitting in a bag on the ground (this is how all of them will appear).

Simply move toward it and take hold of it so we can continue onto the following one. Once you’ve grabbed it, make your way out of the debris and proceed more towards the southeast, this will give you a clear view of the damaged spaceship’s side.

Keepsake #2 – Back of the Ship

After following the instructions given, you’ll notice a blue attachment point nearby which you can use as a launch pad to ascend. Utilize this to reach the rear portion of the damaged vessel.

Starting from where you are now, dash all the way to the most distant end of the ship. You should notice a bag perched atop a slight raised area there, containing a cherished memento. Retrieve it and be ready to glide across the vessel towards the next location.

Keepsake #3 – Front of the Ship

As a gamer standing at the back of this shipwreck, I’d suggest gracefully gliding towards the front half. If you don’t make it, no worries! Simply return to the blue grapple point we marked earlier and give it another go. Oh, and there’s an orange grapple spot on the other side that could be useful in a pinch, but let’s save that for our final treasure hunt!

After reaching the forward part of the wrecked vessel, head towards the front or nose of the ship. Immediately before the foremast (the long pole at the front), you will discover the next treasure lying openly nearby. Retrieve it and then make your way back down to the shore to prepare for the final item.

Keepsake #4 – On the Leaning Mast

Afterward, proceed to the side of the vessel situated on the north, which is the opposite side from where we began during Keepsake #2. There, you will discover a noticeable orange grappling point that will propel you upwards. The following image serves as a guide.

This one might take you a few tries as the game has a very janky gliding and movement system. Basically, you want to land on the leaning mast, where the next keepsake is perched up on. You could try climbing up normally from the base of the mast too, but this is much quicker.

Should you lose your footing, make sure to gracefully descend and land vertically to prevent injury. I’ve observed several unfortunate incidents where individuals have met their end due to fall damage in this place, and it’s certainly a situation you’d prefer to avoid. It’s rather an awkward way to go.

Final Keepsake – RNG Rears its Head

Finally, to get the last Sailor’s Keepsake, you will need to kill Sea Crabs nearby. There are a lot of them here in Daybreak Shore, and they have a relatively quick respawn rate. This step is purely dependent on RNG.

Your mileage may vary depending on how fast you can kill them and how lucky you are in general. It took me just a couple of kills to finish this step when I did it, but some have reported that it took them much longer. Supposedly, the drop rate is really low, so good luck.

Near the designated orange grapple spot next to the ship, you’ll find a spot where a Pirate King’s Chest Crab might spawn. Slaying one of these creatures is essential for completing certain codex entries in this location. If it appears at this spot, be sure to claim the kill credit! However, it’s important to note that, as far as I’m aware, it doesn’t drop a keepsake.

Final Step – Delivering the Keepsakes

When you’ve gathered all the Sailor’s Keepsakes, simply wait for nightfall to hand them over to the ghost named Ruber. He will materialize on the front part of the shipwreck exclusively during the night hours.

To check the in-game time, simply hover your cursor over the icon situated in the upper right corner of your screen, near the edge of the minimap. If it’s still daytime and you have some waiting to do before nightfall, consider engaging in another activity for now. Perhaps you could try fishing at the beach if you just need to wait a short while!

As the evening sets in, you’ll have to be patient for a while, since Phantom Ruber doesn’t appear instantly. Instead, he’ll make an appearance at his regular location following a brief delay, which might last anywhere from a few seconds to a maximum of about two minutes.

After handing over all your mementos to Phantom Ruber, you’ve completed this phase of the quest line within the Daybreak Shore region. There are still other tasks left to accomplish here, so continue your exploration to tick off the remaining optional goals!
