Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry’s sister, sister bond can never be broken.
I’m so glad to hear that Tia and Tamera are still incredibly close! They’ve always been like sisters from another mother, and even though life keeps them busy and they don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like, they’ve confirmed that their bond is stronger than ever. It’s wonderful to hear Tia address any rumors of a falling out – they truly are inseparable!
You know, there was a lot of speculation about a big falling out, but honestly, that wasn’t the reality at all! As I shared with Entertainment Tonight, what everyone was just finding out wasn’t new to us – we’d already navigated it internally. It was surprising to others, but we were already on the other side of it.
The Twitches star shared that everything is good, emphasizing how much family means to everyone involved. While they all lead busy lives and live far apart, they prioritize making time for each other when it matters most, because family is a top priority for all of them.
Tia and Tamera prioritize staying close despite living far apart. Tia shares two children – 14-year-old Cree and 7-year-old Cairo – with her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict.
We agreed to connect once a week, every Sunday. Sometimes we video chat, other times it’s just a quick text, but we make sure to stay in touch. People might be surprised by what goes on behind the scenes, and I get that. Everyone expects us to always be together, but we’re all growing up, starting families, and doing our best to make time for each other.
Tia will always be proud of Tamera, especially how wonderfully she’s raised her children, Aden, 13, and Ariah, 10, with her husband, Adam Housley. Tia considers Tamera’s role as a mother to be her greatest achievement.

Tia praised her, saying, ‘She’s a wonderful mother. It’s really tough to pursue your dreams while also raising kids, and she manages to do both so well. She always puts in her best effort to be there for her children, and she’s succeeding. I find her incredibly inspiring as a mom.’
The twin duo further put their bond on display as they each celebrated National Twin Day.
She celebrated National Twin Day on December 18th with an Instagram post featuring photos of herself and Tamera, writing, “We’re a set, and I wouldn’t change it for the world!”
Tamera shared a heartfelt message on December 19th, celebrating her twin sister. She wrote about how her sister is her best friend and lifelong partner, adding that while National Twin Day was the day before, she wanted to express how grateful she is to have her. She finished with a loving message to @tiamowry.

Tia Mowry is responding to criticism she received after referring to herself as a “single mom,” even though she continues to co-parent her two children, 14-year-old Cree and 7-year-old Cairo, with her ex-husband, Cory Hardrict, who she divorced in 2023. In a recent Instagram post, Tia explained that families come in many forms and can still be loving and supportive. She clarified that being a “single mom” doesn’t always mean raising children completely alone, and acknowledged the challenges faced by those who do. Tia emphasized that, in her current situation, she is the sole parent present in her children’s daily lives and is managing the household on her own, which is something she’s still adjusting to.

Following her divorce from Cory Hardrict in April 2023, actress Tia Mowry began to reflect on her life as a single woman. On the premiere of her reality show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, which premiered in October 2024, she explained that, considering she grew up with a twin sister, Tamera Mowry, and then immediately entered a 22-year relationship with Cory, she had never truly been alone. She described it as a significant life experience.
Tia and Cory first met in 1999 while filming the movie Hollywood Horror. Their relationship began as a friendship but eventually blossomed into romance, with Tia sharing that Cory was her first love and first everything. She revealed on her We TV series that she met Cory when she was 20 years old and lost her virginity at 25, adding, “Then we got married!”

Tia and Cory got married in 2008 and have two children: a son named Cree, born in 2011, and a daughter named Cairo, born in 2018.
In 2022, Tia and Cory separated. Though Tia initially stated “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of their divorce, she later explained when she realized her marriage wasn’t going to work.
Tia Mowry realized the importance of prioritizing her own happiness. In a November 2022 interview on Today, she explained that women often focus on making others happy – their children, friends, and family – but self-love is crucial. She described how working on herself, recognizing her value, and loving herself led to a powerful change, though it wasn’t easy. She felt the journey was ultimately worth the effort.
Following her honest assessment of her divorce, Tia also wanted to be open with the public. As she shared in her show, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, she was simply tired of pretending everything was okay when it wasn’t and wanted to live authentically.

Tia also thought about how her divorce would impact her children, Cree and Cairo. In a June 2023 interview with HelloBeautiful, she explained that her decision was partly for them. She wanted them to see her living authentically, and believed it would be a valuable lesson. She admitted it was incredibly difficult, but hoped it would show them that she could overcome challenges and pursue her own happiness, even when facing doubt or criticism. She wants them to grow up knowing their mother lived truthfully and bravely. Ultimately, she hopes her kids will be inspired to forge their own paths in life, too.
As a parent, that’s honestly my biggest hope for my kids. More than anything, I want them to feel free – free to build lives that they genuinely want, not the lives I envision for them or the ones others expect. I really want them to understand that it’s okay to struggle sometimes, that bad days happen, and that’s perfectly normal. But more importantly, I want them to chase whatever brings them happiness and to have the courage to live authentically, to be true to themselves, no matter what.

Though Tia and Tamera Mowry have been beloved on television for years, they aren’t as close as they once were in their personal lives. Tia recently shared that going through her divorce has been difficult, and she misses having a close relationship with her sister. She explained that she wishes she could easily call Tamera for support, but they’re not currently at that point in their relationship.
Tia explained that she and her sister live separate lives now, with different homes, families, and priorities. A source shared with TopMob that the comment was specifically about the distance between them – Tamera lives in Napa and Tia in Los Angeles. Tia later clarified that she meant they weren’t as easily accessible to each other due to the distance, but acknowledged that this was both a positive and difficult aspect of their relationship.

Tamera was surprised to learn about Tia’s return to reality TV at the same time as the fans. She told Entertainment Tonight in May 2024 that she hadn’t known beforehand, finding out when the news was made public. Tamera also mentioned Tia didn’t ask her to make a cameo on the new series, which she took to mean she wasn’t wanted. Despite this, Tamera seemed understanding, saying Tia explained it was her own personal story and she respected that. Tia herself didn’t see a problem with not telling Tamera about the show, telling the Associated Press in October 2024 that it’s normal to keep some things private and that it didn’t signify any issues between them – they’re both living their own lives and don’t need to share every detail with each other.

Tia and Tamera have openly discussed the challenges in their relationship. During their reality show, Tia & Tamera, which aired from 2011 to 2013, they even went to therapy to improve how they communicated. Tamera explained on the talk show The Real in 2019 that their different personalities made it difficult. She described herself as sensitive, while her sister is more assertive and self-sufficient, and they needed to find a way to communicate positively with each other.

Tamera Mowry grew up constantly being compared to her twin sister, Tia. She explained in a January 2024 YouTube video that it was inevitable – people naturally compare twins, focusing on even small differences like facial features or personality. While she initially didn’t mind, those comparisons eventually became hurtful.
“As I got older, it started to bother me, and it became toxic,” Tamera shared, noting that many of those comparisons are still available online.
Fortunately, her mother offered her some valuable advice: “Comparison is the thief of joy.”
Tamera realized this was true. “Even though we’re twins, God made each of us unique,” she said. “We share DNA, but we have different talents, and that’s perfectly fine.”

Similar to Tia sharing details about her relationship with Cory, Tamera has offered fans a look into her marriage with Adam Housley. She’s described him as the love of her life, but acknowledges, like all couples, they face challenges.
Tamera, who married Adam in 2011, recently told TopMob News in May 2024, “Thirteen years have flown by! We definitely have our ups and downs, but our marriage isn’t perfect, and I still really like him as a person. We’re actually growing closer, not drifting apart.”
They also make an effort to regularly communicate and support each other.
Tamera, who has two children, Aden and Ariah, with her husband Adam, suggests regularly checking in with your partner. She advises simply asking, ‘Are you happy?’ and ‘What can we do to stay happy together?’ She explains that she doesn’t just want a long marriage, but a happy long marriage.

After being married for over ten years, Tamera Mowry-Housley and Adam Housley appear to still have a very active love life.
In a 2022 interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show, Tamera explained that setting sexual goals is key to a happy marriage, and she believes women should feel comfortable talking about their desires.
According to Today, Tamera detailed some of those goals in her memoir, You Should Sit Down for This, including having sex on a skyscraper rooftop, in a car during the rain, and in every room of her house.
She explained she wanted to challenge common expectations. “Be confident in your relationship and enjoy your intimacy!” she said. “A long marriage doesn’t mean you have to lose your spark.”

Tamera Mowry-Housley has been open about her experiences during her first four years on The Real. In her memoir, she described that time as very difficult, detailing how the daily commute, demanding work schedule, and constant public attention caused her significant anxiety and even physical illness. She admitted to struggling with severe anxiety, often vomiting in her dressing room, and drinking too much.
Despite these challenges, Tamera also cherishes her seven years on the show. When she announced she was leaving as a co-host in 2020, she highlighted the lasting friendships she formed and the impact of the people she interviewed.
In an Instagram post, she expressed pride in the show’s accomplishments, including two NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy, and emphasized the positive relationships she built with her co-hosts.

With the recent trend of ’90s show reboots, many fans have been hoping to see a revival of Sister, Sister. However, Tia and Tamera Mowry have explained that bringing the show back isn’t simple. In 2017, Tia shared on The Real that they had been working on it for months, but acknowledged there were limitations. More recently, in May 2024, Tamera confirmed to Us Weekly that a reboot is officially off the table.
