Tiger Woods is facing some legal trouble.
On March 27th, the famous golfer was arrested for driving under the influence shortly after a car accident in Jupiter Island, Florida, around 2 p.m. local time.
According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, deputies at the scene observed signs that Mr. Woods was impaired. He was then arrested and taken to the Martin County Jail.
Budensiek stated his team didn’t believe alcohol played a role in the incident, but they suspected the golfer was affected by medication or another drug, noting he seemed unusually tired and sluggish.
The sheriff explained that Mr. Woods failed a breathalyzer test with a very high reading. When officers asked him to also provide a urine sample, he refused. As a result, he’s been charged with driving under the influence, causing property damage, and refusing a legally required test.
Both counts are misdemeanor charges.
Budensiek noted that authorities may never know what caused Tiger’s impairment.

He’s legally allowed to decline the test,” the officer explained. “While refusing it is a crime under Florida law, even if he did take it, we wouldn’t be able to accurately determine what, if anything, was causing his impairment during the accident.
According to Budensiek, the crash happened when Woods was driving his Land Rover very fast on a two-lane road. He attempted to pass a pickup truck but instead bumped into it. This caused Woods’ vehicle to roll over, and he managed to climb out of the passenger side, according to the sheriff.
Let me tell you what happened from what I understand. When authorities arrived, Tiger shared his medical background – specifically, past injuries and surgeries. They absolutely considered that information, but they also performed thorough field sobriety tests right there on the road to get a complete picture.
No injuries were reported.
TopMob News has reached out to a rep for Woods for comment but has not yet heard back.
