Tiger Woods’ legal woes are ongoing.
After the professional golfer was arrested for driving under the influence on March 27th in Jupiter Island, Florida, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office published his mugshot. The 50-year-old appears to be looking directly at the camera with a neutral expression.
The photo was released after Woods was arrested and charged in connection with a car accident that happened around 2 p.m. local time.
According to Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek, deputies at the scene observed signs that Mr. Woods was impaired. After conducting thorough roadside tests, they arrested him and took him to the Martin County Jail.
Budensiek said his team didn’t suspect alcohol was a factor, but he thought the golfer seemed impaired, likely by a medication or another drug, because he was acting sluggish.
The sheriff explained that Mr. Woods failed a breathalyzer test with a very high reading. When officers asked him to take a urine test, he wouldn’t. As a result, he’s been charged with driving under the influence, causing property damage, and refusing a legally required test.
And Budensiek noted that authorities may never get answers as to what caused Woods’ impairment.
He’s legally allowed to refuse the test,” the officer explained. “While refusing it is a crime under Florida law, even if he did take it, we wouldn’t be able to accurately determine what, if anything, caused his impairment during the accident.
TopMob News has reached out to a rep for Woods for comment but has not yet heard back.

According to reports, golfer and father of Charlie Woods, 17, and Sam Woods, 18 (whose mother is Elin Nordegren), was driving his Land Rover quickly on a two-lane road when the accident happened. He was trying to pass a pickup truck and instead bumped into it, causing his vehicle to roll over. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
After the crash, the sheriff said Woods managed to get out of the car through the passenger side door.
At the scene, Woods informed officers about his past medical issues. The sheriff stated that Woods explained his injuries and previous surgeries, which they considered, but they also conducted thorough field sobriety tests.
