Love is more than skin deep.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I find myself continually astounded by unique expressions of love and remembrance, such as the one demonstrated by TikToker, Angelica. In a heartfelt gesture that underscores the depth of her bond with her late husband, she opted to preserve a piece of his skin as a cherished family keepsake following his passing.
She shared on TikTok (July 23) that her husband was an incredibly devoted Steelers fan. The extent of his fandom? His genuine tattoo, right on his skin, was preserved and displayed in a black frame. This isn’t a copy; you can see the details like his hair, wrinkles, and the ink she would often kiss goodnight before he fell asleep.
As a devoted follower, I’d like to share that, according to Angelica, her son decided to keep this specific tattoo among the over 70 designs that adorned her husband’s body. The reason being, it was the design that he believed his father, the wearer, would have preferred most.
In her July 26 video, Angelica clarified that she and her son found nothing odd about their situation. After the sudden passing of her spouse, they decided to carry out what they had previously discussed.
In West Virginia, a content creator sought assistance from Save My Ink Forever, a firm specializing in tattoo preservation, during the process. She explained that this company collaborated with the mortician managing her husband’s case by offering an “instructional video” detailing the tissue extraction method and a “preservation bag” to maintain the tattoo’s integrity once it was removed from the body.
Later on, the skin was dispatched to the office of Save My Ink Forever based in Ohio, where it went through a confidential, proprietary preservation technique, as stated on their website.

The skin was subsequently shipped to Save My Ink Forever’s office in Ohio, where it was subjected to a secret, proprietary preservation procedure, according to the company’s website.
Angelica mentioned on TikTok that it took roughly three months [or ‘it was approximately 90 days’], and when they revealed the tattoo, there were no words to describe the mix of feelings it evoked. It wasn’t a single sensation; it wasn’t simply an emotion.
As a lifestyle expert, I might rephrase it this way: Though I, myself, can no longer physically touch my spouse due to the protective glass barrier between us, I still maintain a profound, tangible bond with him.
She went on to say, “This experience has provided assistance where I least expected it and reinforced help in areas I thought I was already strong. I can’t put into words the impact this journey has had on me, my son, our family, and our friends.
Angelica expressed a desire to relay her personal experiences with the intention of inspiring others to begin contemplating and arranging their preferences for posthumous tributes. In essence, she suggested that they should consider these matters as if they were managing all aspects related to their passing.
Even though Angelica can no longer physically touch her husband’s skin as it is enclosed within glass, she maintains a deep and tangible emotional bond with him.
She went on to say, “This experience has provided assistance where I least expected it and reinforced help where I believed it was already sufficient. I am unable to articulate the impact this journey has had on me, my son, our family, and our close friends.
Angelica expressed her desire to tell her tale with the aim of inspiring others to begin thinking about and arranging their preferences for posthumous tributes. To quote her, “Begin considering this as a chance to have control over every aspect.
